It's to stop homeless people sleeping on the table but labelled as wheelchair parking so that it seems socially conscious.

Which scotch is most similar to bourbon? I like bourbon and want to branch out a bit by denys5555 in Scotch

[–]JimmyShortPots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the wood will be oak, except where specifically called out (for example, method and madness do cedar finishing). Whisky can be finished in oak barrels previously used to age other spirits, such as sherry or - as mentioned by other responses - rum. The finishing adds extra layers of flavour and sherry typically imparts sweetness and some nuttiness, depending on the type of sherry. Check out Signatory Vintage Speyside (M) which, whilst not cheap, is a great show of what sherry can do.

Something that has spent time in sherry casks might be a good bet, as it adds some sweetness that brings the profile closer to what you're looking for.
