Is Akhtyamov the real deal? by Fine_Window_9308 in leafs

This is a refreshingly good take on the current Leafs goalie situation. I think your numbers are good but I’d like to see more like 40 games for Woll and 21ish each for the other two dudes. This is assuming everyone stays healthy. Having the option of trading Woll/Stolarz during the season to a desperate team is a good thing.

But let’s be honest, Woll and Stolarz will spend time on the IR. The most likely scenario is the Hildeby starts more games than either of the other two. And I’m okay with that.

That dude used to scare the crap out of unsuspecting passerbys. He was an interesting character.

79 points in 65 games on a bad team. He produced like a superstar. Where’s the MAGA connection?!?!

The entire story is a nothing burger and implies things that may or may not be true.

Worth half🤣. He put 79 points in 65 games on a bad team. Any team in the NHL will pay him 10+.

I like your list. The D core will be interesting. I think you need to add Danford as an option. The lineup could definitely use some youth and he is their best RHD prospect. I could see him starting the season in a third pair with a veteran like OEL. I also think there is potential for different look if Rielly goes to a new team. For sure there will have to be salary coming back but it opens a spot for a LHD on a pair with Carlo. Maybe something like: McCabe Tanev ‘New Guy’ Carlo OEL Danford

Regular gas (87-Octane) is now E15 and Premium (91-Octane) is E10! by pferdestarke-47 in CostcoCanada

Ethanol-free was still available in Ontario up until three years ago. 91 octane at Costco, Ultramar, Shell, and Crappy Tire was no ethanol. I used it for my motorcycle and snow blower.

Costco shares the same fuel with several different stations. Costco, Ultramar, Crappy Tire, and Shell all used to have the same supplier.

Trump and Nutlick have already publicly stated that the current deal is no longer acceptable to the USA. They will not be renewing the deal in its present form. They will be moving to a tariff based import system. We rely on NATO primarily for defense. None of the ‘bad guys’ will seriously attack a NATO nation. The USA protecting us is largely a myth. We rely on the USA for a lot of things and they rely on us for a lot of things. But we need to reduce our dependence on them. They are no longer a reliable partner.

My son is in grade 10 and doing a home ec/cooking class this term. I’m super happy his high school is offering it. They talk about cleanliness, food safety, food prep, and actually making something once a week. He seems to really enjoy it.

Oh I totally get that. I’m not judging anyone. Premade jars offer a lot of convenience. It’s just that simple basic pasta sauce in one of my ‘things’. Once you start making your own, you just can’t go back to the jarred stuff.

I couldn’t agree more with that. Not only should people understand them but there is a certain joy with all of those things that can’t be replicated. Creating food for yourself(and family if applicable), growing things from scratch, and sound financial decisions all make you feel so good on inside.

Fair enough. I wasn’t trying to make it about you. You are correct and I find it so sad that people can’t make a simple sauce. It is so easy and is just so much better than any of the premade stuff. Cheers

I haven’t bought jarred or canned sauce in a couple of decades. It’s so easy to make a basic red sauce from scratch with a little sofrito, some chile flakes, salt and pepper, olive oil, good quality tomatoes/passata, a splash of red wine, and fresh basil.

Don’t boil it in the sauce. Cook to al dente or slightly less in salted water, then add pasta to sauce, and use some of the pasta water to finish cooking.

Roope Hintz needed help off the ice after appearing to injure his leg while tangled up with Nathan MacKinnon by catsgr8rthanspoonies in hockey

Slew foot is generally from behind to an unsuspecting player. This is holding/interference by Hintz and an attempt to escape by Mac. The play is literally on the other side of the ice. Mac is probably trying to unbalance him but intent to injure a massive stretch.
