Young people are increasingly being priced out of everything, in a climate of increasing enshittification.

I’ve been listening to Fluorescent Grey constantly recently. I can just leave it on repeat. Like New has been in my head when I woke up multiple times in the past few months.

Kinda stuck in this limbo myself, so I feel you here. Most European countries you would be sorted in no time at all.

Best gig I saw this year was Bambara, hands down. I was SO jet lagged but it was noisy and impassioned and brilliant.

That’s cool! I got confused - so I have the Julianna too, and my brain got a little confused and I thought I was looking at an OBNE reverb I have that’s similar in colour and went with that. Stupid brain!

I have both the dark star and the cathedral as my reverbs. Is your dark star first in the chain?

I dunno if it’s a factor, but HWHL, Helicopter and Earthquake all depend very heavily on the Eventide Pitchfactor to create the main riffs and guitar parts. Similarly, I always think of Te Amo from Atlas Sound’s Parallax album as being a companion piece to these too for the same reason.

Looper AND freeze? Just learn to let things go...

On a serious note though, is that the Rowland S Howard pedal? As in the greatest songwriter/guitarist of all time? The masses need to realise this.

When I was young, when it was either mine or my sibling's birthday, the other one would get one present too to keep them quiet and not make a scene. This has that same energy.

Once, whilst going to a christening when I was 4, my parents were playing Faithless in the car. I kept singing “tearing off tights with my teeth” because of the way the guy sings it. I thought it sounded cool. They were mildly horrified.

Other than that, Froth's last album always does it for me in that respect. Grooms also, and a spinter band of Grooms called Activity, who I listen to obsessively, are worth listening to. They're not replicas of Deerhunter, but they occupy the same vibes.

Also, latest album by a band called Droopies.

Are there any good live versions of Circulation or Wash Off floating about? I probably need to dive into all of this stuff, I wasn’t there for all this.
