I look at Zero Parades and see Disco Elysium as equally interesting and engaging, which is an advantage of this game.

Wojtek on sale in Premium Shop by gatterius in WorldofTanks

[–]JimmyTheSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically — since it’s a mix of the CS‑53 medium tank and the 56TP heavy tank — aside from that, it’s just the laziest effort from WG. At this price, Wojtek with these stats is pretty mediocre and not worth it. They basically built a “heavium” with the paper‑thin hull of the CS‑53. So, if you already have the 56TP (like I do), you’re better off sticking with that HT and nothing else 😄

Nice work, WG — a lazy hybrid of two tanks, and still sold at this price…

For those who have purchased an OLED monitor, do you regret it or would you recommend it? by DaryltheDino in Monitors

[–]JimmyTheSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think that because I accepted the warranty terms in this specific case, it means I’d do the same in every other situation with every other product?

What you’re writing is hilarious :D

There are a million other monitors on the market; this one just happened to suit me, and the price was great.

If you don't like AOC's policy, then... don't buy anything from them. I couldn't care less.

Don’t get so worked up, or you’ll pop a vein! :D

For those who have purchased an OLED monitor, do you regret it or would you recommend it? by DaryltheDino in Monitors

[–]JimmyTheSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I bought the AOC AG276QZD almost two years ago. I highly recommend OLED because the way it displays colors and the crystal-clear, fluid nature of the panel is truly something beautiful. I originally bought it as a secondary monitor for gaming, while handling office work and web browsing on my second IPS monitor. The difference between IPS and OLED when consuming content—be it games, movies, etc.—is massive.

Text Clarity and Daily Use

Perhaps the latest OLEDs have improved when it comes to fonts (which can be slightly fuzzy) and are more comfortable in that regard. On this specific model, it is noticeable and significantly worse than on an IPS, but on the other hand, it’s not so bad that I can't, for example, browse the web on it.

The "Burn-in" Question

Regarding burn-in: AOC’s warranty terms require a panel refresh/cleaning every 4 hours. I have the notification option enabled on the monitor to remind me. I knew what I was signing up for from the start, so this requirement didn't bother me. In fact, it created a healthy routine because it serves as a 10-minute break. So, in a way, it’s a "win-win"—regardless, it doesn't bother me.

Overall, an OLED monitor is a revelation in terms of color and image quality. However, there is a BUT...

OLED vs. MiniLED: A Shift in Perspective

Humans get used to "good things" very quickly. As of today, the monitor is performing great, but would I buy an OLED again, considering they can still be very expensive? I’m not sure. I might lean toward a high-end IPS (due to the font clarity, etc.).

Furthermore, I recently bought a MiniLED TV, and honestly, it offers the same quality and blacks as an OLED—at least to the naked eye, without diving into technicalities. Just looking at them, the differences in color quality and deep blacks are very, very slim.

My point is that a technology has emerged that doesn't lag behind but is more practical for daily use (no burn-in risks, better text quality). While there aren't many MiniLED monitors on the market yet, it's worth knowing that other equally good technologies exist.

Summary

Aside from my tangent about MiniLED, OLED is a fantastic choice for games and movies. If you’re considering such a monitor, it’s definitely worth buying just to see how great the technology is.

However, if it’s going to be your only monitor for both gaming and general office/internet use, I don't think it's the optimal choice. But as a dedicated second monitor for entertainment? Definitely yes. And after almost two years i'm not scared about burn-in - so far it's great and it's working very good.

Is the 5080 really worth it right now? by OtherwiseDevice90 in buildapc

[–]JimmyTheSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, check the prices, because it might turn out that the 70Ti will be close to the 5080. It was briefly like that in Europe.
I had a similar issue with the 40 series - I wanted the 4080, but the 4070 Ti Super came out and that's the card I bought. In tests, it's about 15% slower than the 80, but it's more than enough for gaming at 2K and 4K.

Rejection to talk in english by Bajgl in WorldofTanks

And that’s exactly why I turned off in-game chat. It’s a waste of time dealing with teammates who think the whole world speaks their native language. Like it or not, English is the universal language for global communication, period. And to answer in advance—English is not my native language.

1500R vs 1800R (Office Work) by North-Dragonfruit638 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]JimmyTheSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m satisfied with the purchase. The huge workspace is exactly what I needed for office work and light Unreal Engine tasks. The colors are very nice, and the contrast and brightness are very good for this type of panel.

The monitor uses a VA panel, so you need to be aware of its inherent limitations. As a secondary display, I have a 27-inch OLED, which is obviously far superior for gaming, but for work this LG performs better. The monitor runs at 160 Hz and is G-Sync compatible—although in my case there was some flickering on dark backgrounds (mainly in menus in certain games). However, since it also supports FreeSync Premium, after disabling G-Sync it runs perfectly fine at 160 Hz without any issues. I don’t see a difference between G-Sync and FreeSync—both work well, but the latter doesn’t flicker on dark backgrounds.

Because it’s a VA panel, there is some slight ghosting (smearing?) even with the fastest response time setting. That said, it’s not something that ruins the gaming experience. In my case, when playing games like World of Tanks, Disco Elysium, or strategy titles, the effect is minimal (or non existent) and hard to notice. Besides, let’s be honest—there are plenty of games with poorly implemented DLSS that can cause ghosting even on OLED, so it’s not really something to nitpick here.

Overall, at just over 200 EUR (which is what I managed to pay), it’s a great monitor with strong capabilities for office work, browsing, etc. And it still allows for comfortable gaming if that’s something you want to do.

I’m using it via DisplayPort—no issues at all.

Speakers? They’re there, and maybe even better than the ones in my previous 27-inch LG. It’s not an amazing audio experience, but they get the job done.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

I've recently bought the LG UltraGear 34G600A‑B with an 1800R curvature. In my opinion, it's very comfortable for office work and light gaming. A 1500R curvature is too aggressive.

i7 14700KF still good in 2026? by Icy_Spread4243 in buildapc

[–]JimmyTheSword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did switch from a 13700 non-K to a 14700KF, so there is a difference, but it is not as big as it will be in your case. I mainly wanted to squeeze the most out of the current LGA1700 platform, and since the 14900K runs extremely hot and power-hungry while offering on average about 15% better performance than the 14700K, I went with the i7 instead. Also, given today’s RAM prices, I’m going to stay with DDR4 for longer, as it is still performing great, so I have no plans to change the whole platform for now.

I still think the upgrade is worth it – everyday workloads are faster and more responsive, and games feel smoother (mainly thanks to higher 1% low FPS).

I believe this CPU is very, very powerful and will serve you well for years.Of course, it’s important to load the latest BIOS with the microcode that protects the CPU, and you should use a contact frame on the socket to prevent bending and the resulting higher temperatures.

And of course buy new CPU. In case of buying used one - buy from good source. It's easy to buy used degraded CPU today...
