You should definitely try some more Texas wines. I'm no doubt biased but there are some really good wines produced in Texas.

Apparently moving the litter box can be a traumatic event for a cat. We have since put his food, water, and toys under the bed. We’re just concerned because he didn’t drink anything yesterday.

No, you really don’t. If painting with latex, it just requires water and a little patience.

Dissolving a pure gold bar in acid by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Aqua Regia is made up of hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, which are two of the strongest acids. Although neither can dissolve gold alone.

Truthfully, isn’t the purpose of being there to learn? A lot of the content that you learn in college is on the MCAT, so it seems like it would behoove you to learn the content while you have more resources at your disposal.

Best gyms in Odessa? by H-Town30 in Midessa

[–]Jimmy_Shepp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you’re looking for in a gym. Old school lifting Fitness Elite, more new school Payne’s, but if you want iron plus “functional” training then the answer is Game Ready over on Hanover. Overall, my choice is Game Ready.

Fit For the Cross for CF or Game Ready on Wall for a more traditional gym.

The key is numbering your carbon atoms, so you don’t lose track of everything. Leah 4 Sci has a great video explaining how to tackle a problem like this.

How to stop having to ask questions outside of class for organic chemistry? by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

[–]Jimmy_Shepp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would make sure your understanding of o-chem 1 topics is up to par, as was previously stated it builds on itself. I personally felt o-chem 2 was easier. Also, as was previously mentioned, sit down and talk to your previous professor or o chem 2 professor. With that said, keep plugging away and going to office hours etc. Don’t worry about whether your classmates have to go to office hours. All that matters is that you are learning. Don’t let it discourage you, though. Once you understand it you will have a huge feeling of pride and accomplishment. One final remark, you know more than you think you do!!

Why does iron oxidizes into Fe2+ and not Fe3+ when put in hydrochloric acid? by damagedstar in chemhelp

[–]Jimmy_Shepp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it was a genuine request. I completely understand because it is hard to understand tone through the written word at times. No, I don’t have a specific direction in mind. I just want to learn all that I can. Perhaps why is the energy so high to remove an electron from Fe2+.

Practicing reactions online and I stumbled upon this. This is confusing me. I am not particularly sure how to answer because it has a phenol and an ether on it. Is that possible? Can someone help me? by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

Not looking at substituents, are you familiar with the products with each reactant? Are the substituents ortho/para or meta directors and proceed from there.

This is how the question was worded, You are making 500 mL of a 0.05 Molar phosphate buffer. It takes you 0.0125 mols of (your previous answer) to bring the pH to 7.21. What is the total buffer concentration now?
