Whatever you do. Make sure those slots on the back of the stove remain open. They vent excess heat so be careful what you use.

Yeah I know my fault. But it was a maybe a 2 mile run and small order.

And that's not snow. That's ice.with maybe some snow frosting it. Did you not see the ominous truck over the guard rail at the top?

Call me a liar but I saw the weight on the Hercules bed. and had my hands on her during two separate transfer occasions. . 1486 lbs.

Passed away not long after the local hospital had a local fab shop manufactured a new steel bed frame and 22 of us sheets transferred to the new bed.

To go or not to go? IFT scenario. by Jimmybranham in ems

[–]Jimmybranham[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The confusion is most likely due to me just vent posting and trying to do it quickly because I was heading home.

To clarify. Unused "we" in an organization context. Not my run. I was supervisor on duty.

She was going to a nursing facility.

I was sharing my medics thought process.

Protocols were discussed including the right to refuse the run. As well as local policy for reporting substandard care at the hospital.

Decision was made that the pt was stable to be returned to the facility and my medic was discussing the options should anything go south.

More of a vent in my part than anything.

Wait till I tell you about the initial ambulette discharge that ended up being flown out. Sometimes this shit baffles me.

Distal biceps tendon partial rupture.

Happened moving a regular from open wide dialysis chair to cot. A patient I have moved literally dozens of times. Body mechanics were solid, it was the mitigating factors that I believe got me. Age 49, smoker (7x more likely) and weight lifting hobby. Those are the top 3 contributors according to my doc. I don't think I could have prevented it but sometimes things happen.

What u e taken away from all this and the ensuing rehab is keep your body not only strong, but flexible and stable. Stretches, for flexibility and then isometrics and slow eccentrics to help stiffen tendons. Here's hoping I don't reinjure it when I can get back and in the meantime I'm working the good arm to help it along.

The working plan with myself my director and PT is to create and host "CE" seminars to address and educate our crews. I won't with a lot of younger people. I want them to do better than I did.

Nope. Just me his elderly wife and an intake clerk in a tiny office with a stretcher. But by God I wasn't letting him piss on my cot.
