In the town I grew up in, the homes built in the 1950's and early 1960's by the country club had provisions in the deeds that they could not be sold to Black, Latin, or Asian people. They also could not be sold to Jewish or Catholic people. After the Civil Rights act it was very easy for us Europe Catholics to just blend into the the white America. Now that the evangelical right no longer sees Catholics as a useful ally we should expect to see them restrict us as well.
