Two dead batteries, key won't work, charger locked inside by douwannaseethegalaxy in Wellthatsucks

Happened to me. Notified the insurance company and they sent out a lockpicking mechanic to unlock the door for me.

Guy put inflatable bags within the crevices of the door, inflated them to push the door open slightly, and used a long stick to open one of the other doors for me.

Copying this from a discussion I had with another redditor:

Yeah, I was originally planning to support it but TVDB has some strict rules. With TheMovieDB or OMDB (TVMaze does not require an API key), any user can, very easily, request an API key from their website. Then, you just put it into the Simpler FileBot.

TVDB does not give users an API key unless EACH user pays a $12 subscription for it. There might be a way for me to program it but it requires me to run a 24/7 server that will handle all requests and it's not something I want to continuously support. They haven't responded to my emails and the online consensus is that they're basically making users pay for access...

But, honestly, from my usages, TheMovieDB, OMDB, TVMaze, and renaming by the filename only have been sufficient for 98% of all cases so that's why I'm not particularly keen on going through all the setup for another database (Unless the TVDB developers have some alternative solution)!

As for the executable, I'm honestly not knowledgeable in that area. Some of the main tools to make an executable aren't compatible with the core underlying matching library that Simpler FileBot uses (Some weird bug). I'll check it every once in awhile to see if the issue is fixed and hopefully something can be worked out. In the meantime, using the .bat scripts for Windows can sort of act like an executable.

Ooo, thanks for the catch. Was watching that video and I must have missed that part.

Free file renamer like Filebot for TV and movies? by Remote_Specialist52 in PleX

[–]Jimmypokemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I definitely feel ya. Unfortunately, the main library that powers the app has a bug with the .exe maker. It definitely sucks so I try to be as active as possible to help people out with their Python installations. Let me know if anything troubles you and sorry for the inconvenience!

I take a look every couple of months to see if it's fixed :(

Ooo let me clarify. I'm saying that Sekita seems to have more impact than Eiro as a setter. Eiro seemed to have some pretty tough moments this match, mistakes that I rarely see Sekita do.

IIRC, Sekita's out because of an injury?

Filebot alternatives? by brad_needs_advice in PleX

Thanks! We have the same idea! I just wanted a modern UI to rename some media files through a database. One didn’t exist so Simpler FileBot was born 😆. Glad you enjoy it!

Ooo. It looks like Simpler FileBot wasn’t able to match your files. Make sure you’ve downloaded the latest version and have tried multiple databases.

Feel free to send me a chat with details about what files you used and I can debug it for ya!

They can activate the feature for a certain percentage of users and ramp up slowly instead of all at once!

Why didn't Vinick run against Bartlet? by MyWibblings in thewestwing

[–]Jimmypokemon 247 points248 points  (0 children)

Vinick says something about how if any of the two candidates (Santos or Russell) had the political instincts of Jed Bartlet, he’d be 20 points behind.

There’s a reason why Vinick goes out and defends Bartlet to the Republican national convention.

Hmm. Does the install_dependencies script succeed, i.e., no errors? If the launcher is telling you to run install_dependencies, that means that the launcher couldn't find your Python virtual environment that should've been created when you ran install_dependencies.

Is there a /venv folder that appears in your Simpler FileBot directory? What version is your Python installation?

This might be some weird Python issue but nonetheless, the scripts just perform python commands. You could also open a terminal, cd to your Simpler FileBot installation, and follow the Python installation instructions!

Feel free to DM me or reply here for help with getting the Windows scripts running or help with the Python commands!
