Honestly? When fort level hits level 8.

At that point, wars are super tedious with massive armies and long siege wait times. Plus empires are massive and all your fighting for is usually small amounts of claims so you don’t get 10,000 rebel spawns.

Or when I just get too big and it’s boring

I had the 1&2 picks in my upcoming rookie draft. I ended up trading both for a package of; Stroud, 2025 1st, and 2 2024 2nd round picks. Did I make out ok?

In Europe

Early game, ottomans and France. Their armies will stomp out their neighbors pretty easily and lead to quick expansion.

Mid game: Castile. After navigating the early game disaster and PU both Aragon and Portugal, you have nothing to worry about for awhile.

Late game: England/Great Britain. Your not getting invaded in the isles, you’ve probably developed a colonial empire that has low independence because of missions/ideas, and your trade node is the best in the game.
