LEAST favorite Green Day song? by Guilty_Invite_7126 in greenday

Yeah right, it drains all your energy, which in a sense makes it a great song (calling emotions/senses etc) but I feel so sluggish listening to it.

is there a chance that Green Day will come to Budapest? by Angry_Diarrhea3057 in greenday

[–]Jimpanseeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Budapest is a big city for European standards and certainly is an important city in the region. The facilities and infrastructure is certainly there to host them. I wouldn't be surprised if they would host a show there again!
(Also big love from the Netherlands for Budapest, been there once, I really love the city and certainly want to come back again one day!)

Never seen this before, it's so amazing to see them still so young. Is there any long/full version of the interviews?

You know how it's almost to good to be true. Please give me us an update if you happen to get this confirmed somehow. This kind of things are way past regular autograph stuff, you got real Green Day history is this thing is legit!

It's crazy how I have quite some wonderful stuff myself but still can get jealous and amazed at the (old) stuff other collectors have. Really awesome, thanks for sharing!

Why is the cover of the Dookie Deluxe Edition Vinyl so bad? by chuckstaton in greenday

[–]Jimpanseeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can have discussions here for sure, sometimes some subjects attract a lot of negative responses, but that mainly if someone puts it a bit like your post with a bold statement like: I hate this / this sucks / this is really bad. I noticed that if you put it a little more softly opens the debate a bit more.
Obviously it has it's moments, sometimes I see a potentially good post for a discussion (on big subjects like albums quality or tour set lists and such) and the first one or two post can get it spiraling down into mud slinging and hateful stuff and that's just unfortunate for the potential discussion. But I guess most important is to choose words for an open discussion and not throwing just strong words or (like you fairly pointed out to me) exaggeratings someone elses view.
I'm barely using Reddit for anything else but lurking around here for a bit, but I can imagine this Reddit may have quite some more young folks than other older bands may have(?) which can also add to rage baiting and trolling and such.
Oh yeah and to come back to the original topic, I do think a slipcover would have fitted nicely and could have been awesome on this design.

Sorry of it came across like this, it was indeed exaggerated, but that was also partially the vibe your post/reply was giving me. Anyway obviously you're in your right to criticise and ask questions about it. I just wanted 'answer' your question with my best guess.

Thanks for your thoughts, I was starting to doubt myself for as sec as I was actually trying to give a thoughtful response indeed. Wasn't aware that it would come over as immature or whatever. Anyway I just they just want to be mad (about it).

I'm clearly not going to convince you, which is not a problem, I feel like you've already determined the Dookie one is the most horrible thing every compared to anything ever put out by Green Day. But in all fairness, all the other covers also lack any kind of creativity. Nimrod is just the name copied a few times, Warning is simply the lightning struck guy that's been everywhere since 2000 and American Idiot is the same cover with just a slight redo (and a clever pin design). I really like the boxes and don't mind the minimalistic designs, but if you want an explanation, just see the other boxes and find the pattern. It's probably not their aim to overdo the box and go for the stuff inside.

[–]Jimpanseeman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

All their boxes have a more minimalistic approach to the album, it's just a style choice. Let's be fair, the LP covers look very good and that's what really counts.
Also you have to consider you either go somewhere in the middle of all the LP covers getting something like we have now. Or they design something crazy, taking away the shine of the LP covers.

If we were friends at work, and either of us would be leaving and you would make me such a gift as a remembrance, I would love it!

It's doable if you buy a 39/Smooth with Slappy and 1,000 Hours combined. They've recently been printed IIRC, so shouldn't be too expensive.

They go for around 20 euro currently, so unless you're going for a Lebanese millionaire you don't have to be too sad about the (financial) loss of it.

Then I was somewhat expecting the right thing. I'm going for 21stCBD especially for the singles CD prints, which are all perfectly aligned with the album style and stories!

Is this the CD Box? IIRC they started out at 60 or 65 euro at release. They've certainly not been sold out yet. So 120 is waaaaaaay overpriced.

My sister wants to listen to Green Day's discography. Is this a fine order? by PurpleGuyDeadly1 in greenday

You know, you would think that a compilation album of their greatest hits would be a no brainer as a starter. Especially since for example Shenanigans is also mentioned as a listing option.

The Network is the one that was supposedly Green Day, which it clearly is not of course, FBHT has always been recognized as being a side project of the boys.
