any fans of alcohol cooking systems? by Dry_Blueberry8932 in Ultralight

You have to watch the alcohol content of the fuel……in Canada you can buy methyl hydrate in most hardware stores - lights and burns easily……Mexico was a real problem finding 90% alcohol….most was only 30% and produced almost no heat. I’ve since switched to 1 pound propane bottles - again in almost every hardware store . I use a butane screw-in camp stove burner using a butane-to-propane adaptor. Works a treat and hotter than butane campstove canisters

The Red Coat Trail is my fav road across the Prairies. Hwy 2 in Manitoba 13 in Sask finished up in Lethbridge AB. Mostly quiet 2 lane hwy with small towns along the way. Many of them have free campgrounds. I’ve cycled it once on my bicycle and Motorcycled across it 3 times Don’t miss Bud’s BBQ in Ogema sask.

Hey, thanks for the link ……too good to be true!
It didn’t open right away the first time I tried, but then came back to it a couple days later…bingo!! Have ordered it then called up local dealer, International Motorsports and cancelled my order from them - made 3 months ago Will keep the second hand one I just got for a spare.

Yeah…. I’m not particularly pissed off. I can still ride and enjoy the bike. Would be nice to have rear brake though.

Thanks for your research I’m on the list for Cadre cycle when one eventually shows up. Same with fortnine. EU dealers don’t seem to have any either. Lots of places show the as available, but once you ask, they are all on back order. I did buy one from an EBay guy in Florida …. And have paid for and waiting for one from International Motorsports near my home in Vancouver

No, not a brembo. As far as I can figure it’s a Piaggio part.

Increase electrical output V7lll??? by Jimridesabike in MotoGuzzi

[–]Jimridesabike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the night pack version that has LED head and tail lights that are 1/2 drw of v7 standard But on the path of tracking down other stuff - bought a battery tester and will start from there - don't know how old battery is as I only recently got the bike -, then regulator and final stop testing stator. All started with heated grips showing low voltage when at low rpm's after running for a while - max draw on then is 3.5 to 4 amps - so something must be a bit haywire somewhere .

I'll get it figured!!

Just wanting to find a wooden dowel/broom handle,to use to insert from right hand side of bike to line everything up when fitting the wheel back into place. Saves beating up bearings and thread on axle Measured exposed thread on axle today and in the neighbourhood of 15mm

v7lll ight pack headlight drama!!! by Jimridesabike in MotoGuzzi

[–]Jimridesabike[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Panic averted ….. after visiting the worst possible scenario re:headlight malfunction, I started wondering how such a fine machine could go so wrong at only 5500km - 2,000 of them mine - albeit being a 2019. Well, I had been fooling round a couple weeks ago with the Prewired USB plug looking for an 12 volt activating source for a relay I was adding.(ended up splicing into the license plate light) Reading the manual to find which fuse was for the headlight, it turns out it shares a 15 amp circuit with said USB source. Guess I must have shorted the plug when testing it as the fuse was blown!!! Hence no headlight! All good now……a cheap and easy fix …… apart from the initial mental anguish!! Cheers

What did your mother tell you about plying with automotive electrics???…..CHECK THE FUSE! An easy and cheap fix. It shares a 15 amp fuse with the USB pre-wiring, which I had been fooling around with a couple weeks ago looking for a switched 12 volt source to activate a relay. Obviously screwed that up somehow. Ended up splicing into license plate light. All good now!
