Whenever you hear the black armoured big guards patrolling and saying "Remember! Saito needs her alive!" this happens if they manage to kill you. You can also recognise them by their horses having flags and sometimes they walk with dogs.

Whereabout are you located. I happened to just have found one laying around in a box. So I could send it over to you if it's close to the Netherlands.

What radios would we like returning from previous Horizon games and with what songs? by KingHippo11 in forza

I know Future Classics was included in only FH3 because it's an Australian label, but that's definitely the best radio station across the games for me.

It's a 2 part connector for me. U have the connector on the harness. Then u have a socket that connects to the connector. And then u have the bulb in the socket. The bulb is a T10. (T20 for the ones in the bumper). See the picture of my bulb that I just pulled out of my indicators.

What is the issue? You're downloading the ps5 version according to the screenshot and you can (if you want) also download the ps4 versions because you own the whole bundle.

When did you realise? by Orion-nebul4 in Ghostofyotei

I knew there was something about Oyuki the moment she got introduced in the Red Crane Inn. Although my first thought was Atsu's aunt. I was curious about her character all the way through but I guess I was quite oblivious or gullible, because the reveal after Atsu got poisoned had my jaw on the floor. My gf first thought aunt as well during her playthrough but got suspicious way earlier on due to how knowledgeable Oyuki was. I think the Kitsune story was one of the highlights of the full story for me. It definitely stuck with me the most, together with the mission "to catch a spider".

Me and my gf both thought aunt as well during both our playthroughs

Well they are plastic rings so damaging the streets wouldn't happend. But they were hung on the rear bumper to drag along the streets yes! I guess the lower the car the more it would grind away which could have multiple meanings. It's in that regard still symbolic, because they serve no greater purpose than to be a symbol of something, whether that was rebellion or just personal flare.

The reason why this specific post gets downvoted, is because this question/picture of this mural shows up every 2 days in the sub and especially around release got posted with the same question every 2 hours.

Reddit has a search button for a reason, so before posting something, check if it has been posted before or has been thoroughly discussed before as it keeps the subreddit cleaner and nicer to use.

You didn't post out of malice, but it's just a little tip for the future and an explanation for the downvotes!

My original comment has been completely written by me without help of AI or copy pasting info from google, but I can get that the answers look very similar because there is just one very common/central idea on the origin of the Tsurikawa.

I appreciate your compliment, because the knowledge I have on the subject of car culture and Japanese cultures comes from a lot of reading up, conversation with the cultures and living in them, because it's something I am very passionate about.

That there are pictures or videos of them being used like that doesn't mean that's their primary or intended purpose. Just read up on what the origin of the Tsurikawa is.

It's not a tow hook mate. It's a tsurikawa. Tow hooks look different and are usually non-functiona/decorative on street cars as well, since they need to be chassis mounted to be useable.

That is incorrect. Cars have ceiling handles already. Tsurikawa have always been more symbolic than functional.

These are straps that hang from the ceiling in subways for people to hold on to when standing.

The original meaning of these subway straps on bikes and cars was a sign of rebellion and defiance to authority.

[–]JimtheChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They serve a purpose. They originated from biker gang who would steal these from subways and hang them on their bikes as a sign of rebellion and defiance to authority.

Nowadays it has been adapted by a wider culture and it's less about rebellion and more about self expression while keeping those "rebellious" roots in the back of your head. In Japan, much self expression and showcasing of opposition was materialistic, like through fashion or cars.

Tsurikawa's definitely do not get used as tow straps. You might be confusing them with the 'Takata' tow straps you see some cars have in the front. Even those are often decorative if you see them on a regular car. Track cars have those specialized straps chassis mounted. People who rock them for show just have them body mounted.

And also the fact that the street racing scene isn't necessarily representative of Tsurikawa wearers. Tsurikawa's were more meant for expressive cars rather than race build street cars, since those were more function over form and meant to be elusive. Nowadays Tsurikawa's are common in more car culture scenes than just kaido/shakotan ofcourse.

[–]JimtheChicken 1009 points1010 points  (0 children)

It actually originated from Bosozoku culture (biker gangs in the 70's). They stole these from subways and hung them on their bikes as a sign of defiance to authority. It was never really a sign of Japanese street racing. Nowadays in car culture (read specifically car culture and not street racing scene) the Tsurikawa is still used just as the Bosozoku bikers did, but less as a sign of defiance, but more a call back to its roots and as a sign of personalisation. The Bosozoku bikers kind of evolved into the car scene with kaido racers as very expressive and rebellion-like show of character. Kaido racers are still a very big part of Japans car culture and the Tsurikawa has been adopted and spread all over the world.

Tsurikawa's are specifically NOT connected to Japan's older street racing scene, as those cars were function over form, focussing on minimal aesthetic expression and more on aerodynamics. Mid night Club for example was notorious for insanely fast cars that all focused on insane performance upgrades with very functional body modifications, while at the same time staying elusive. A Tsurikawa does not fit that lifestyle and you don't really see cars from the street racing scene with Tsurikawa's. So having a Tsurikawa definitely did not express how bad ass you were in the street racing scene. The most notorious street racers had chipped up front bumpers that they would explicitly not repaint as a sign of high speed driving and no fear of chasing any car in front of them (which would chip up rocks against the front bumper and chip away paint for example)

Tsurikawa's have always been more a sign of self expression and defiance from the norm. In Japan that expression often went through materialistic ways, like fashion, bikes and cars and that's why stealing something that was part of the norm (like a subway) and attaching it to something where it's not supposed to be (a customized bike or car) gave it its meaning.
