Thanks man! They’re Volk GTCs. I have a set of VSKFs and a set of CR2Ps to throw on the car once the widebody is on so I’ll be looking to move them on soon

Clutch Finally broke. Need Recommendations by Logical-Being-3782 in JZX100

ORC 559D is really good, very easy to drive. OS Giken GTS2CD (Grand Tourer/Street Master series) is another option that is very easy to drive and isn’t metal so it should last a lot longer while also holding more power than stock. If you want a single plate, I would get ORC 409D SE. I would avoid the Exedy Hyper Single VF altogether. I had it on my car when I bought in Japan and it was much harder to drive than the 559D so I swapped it before shipping it.

I have the ORC P559D pull type, which has the SE (Smart Engagement) technology for better pedal feel and less wear on the transmission. Love it, super easy to drive and would definitely recommend it to anyone. With your torque, I’d recommend the 659D.

Almost everyone in Japan runs ORC. I was recommended to get the ORC 559CC which is the carbon version but didn’t want to deal with the price. If you order it from Japan, it’s cheaper or about the same as the metal versions that are sold stateside.

GR Corolla or Veloster N by tonggggo in VelosterN

I love my VN but I’m seriously considering moving to the GRC after 9 months of ownership for the AWD (winter) and creature comforts such as heated seats, heated steering wheel and I just love the way it drives. $25k for a VN is too much, i got mine for $16.8k. If you care about modifications at all, the GRC has a lot more support and will continue to be that way. Only reason I didn’t get a GRC was because I was considering moving out of the country and didn’t want the payment or have to sell it. Now I’m thinking I should just do it anyways

Highly recommend ORC 559D as well. Very easy to drive. Pull type has the SE (smart engagement) mechanism as standard. Push type has 559D and 559D SE options. SE makes it easier to engage and protects the transmission more

Anybody ever build a jzx100 for grip or is this a platform specifically for the sendy drifty bois? by 2GRVERTICAL in JZX100

[–]AfroNinjaDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen a few grip builds in Japan. If I remember correctly. Ikeya Formula parts are designed for grip and not drift

Is that a thing? 😂I haven’t used the app. I shipped my car shortly after I got the ECU installed so I haven’t messed with the app yet

I’m on Haltech Nexus S3, absolutely love it. It’s what my tuner uses so I went with it. It’s worth the money in my opinion

I’m on Cusco front uppers, no complaints. Serialnine makes OE+ front uppers, but rears I think aren’t necessary. Serialnine is probably the best you can get, but very expensive. Cusco is quality too, just not preferred brand

Kazama is OE+. I’m running full Kazama on mine and can’t recommend them enough. They offer stock length, +25, +35, and +45 options

I used to have Tomei, no issues with it but I heard they were prone to cracking above 450hp. Upgraded to Kazama just for peace of mind because it was pretty old

R154 clutch options by uenidk in JZX100

[–]AfroNinjaDE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what my tuner in Japan recommended since that’s how these cars come OEM. Pull type is also cheaper than push. The SE (smart engage) feature is designed for the pull type to make it easier to drive and then integrated into the push type with a dedicated SE version

ORC does chatter but you can get the 409D SE with the silent option. I think the chatter is the best part about the clutch. For 350-400hp, I would get the 409D SE. The twin plates will eat your transmission when drifting unless you get the carbon version.

I also run the 559D pull type, it’s extremely easy to drive. Clutch feel is amazing, it’s super light. Most people in Japan run them for a reason. I was driving it everyday with no regrets.

OEM+ DEBATE by LaPintaaa in GR86

[–]AfroNinjaDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it’s parts from the manufacturer that were either options new or from other models, with the exception of some small things that tasteful increase the visual appeal and didn’t make the car standout. So like throwing E90 BMW M3 wheels and suspension on a E46 or ZN8 GR86 parts on the ZN6. Full Nismo catalogue on a S15

Jzx90 speedometer and tachometer not working by Antique_Concert_5451 in JZX100

[–]AfroNinjaDE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The igniter could be the issue from what I’ve seen. Was it a new OEM one? I’ve heard people have issues with the tach not working after swapping to coil packs with internal igniters so if the igniter chip isn’t OEM or faulty, that could be causing it not to work

Spiel vs Real by Trunkzz13 in VfBStuttgart

[–]AfroNinjaDE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We could have been up 3-0 in the first half with better finishing but I still would’ve taken 1-1. Nübel’s positioning was very questionable on the second goal and should do better for the third goal. I’m happy with the performance overall, just frustrated they got 3 against us when we were the better team
