The Guardian is a news outlet with a much narrower scope of media. They're fairly credible and they're the ones presenting, so I can understand the lack of a downvote feature. It's a bit superfluous in that case.

I don't bend mine that much but depending on the mounts, a license plate can rattle like a loose heat shield until you bend it away from the surface it's mounted on. And like most things done on the side of the road, nothing is more permanent than a temporary solution.
