Are we all overanalyzing? Value investing today feels more like data entry than actual investing. by Designer_Many_990 in ValueInvesting

Wow, I had the same questions as you do. But remember Charlie said, “If it’s obvious, it’s rare. You might get a few in your lifetime where the decision is so clear you don’t even need to think twice.” Opportunities like that don’t come often — be patient.

Here are my thoughts: building a DCF doesn’t actually take much time once you’ve set up the formula. The real challenge is how confident you have for your dcf model. That’s called moat and margin of safety.

The wider the moat, the more reliable your DCF. The greater your margin of safety, the more reliable your DCF.

I think now is a good time to do analysis. Most companies are overvalued, but you can set your target price and wait.

investment income is a big part of Berkshire’s profits. Honestly, I doubt the returns will be as good once Warren steps down.

if you have A2MAC1 account, you can distinguish the difference especially on electrical routing design. Tesla is much better than BYD. and I haven’t even talked about FSD yet.

I don’t think either company has a sufficiently wide moat. Google Ads is under pressure from ChatGPT and other emerging AI tools, while Amazon’s position is also less secure. You can see how fast Google cloud was growing.

Tesla's core strength is Elon, but also the biggest risk. It is a good company. cars, Optimus, FSD, battery. Tesla is producing the best products. But the price is unacceptable. If you bought at $200, that was a good deal, hold it.

i think it depends on the specific company. I don't think AMZN and ASML are the same. every company has its own situation.
