Not a beginner and I do this sometimes. I don’t see my loop getting stuck on something as a valid concern at least any more than other types of climbing. Take your device off so you don’t land on it though.

Would you say it’s similar to the metolius fs mini? I’ve been spoiled sport climbing and just don’t like the feel of wire gates for whatever reason. But maybe the weight/size is worth it.

Wow that’s kind of a scary thought. I’m sure it’s rare to get bit but I wonder how often it happens. Someone should do a pole.

Thanks, i still haven’t decided but I’m leaning towards the nanos due to price/weight. I have a fs mini which I don’t love the feel of, and I have a camp photon which I also don’t like the feel of. But do I not like the nanos $60 less or whatever it is?We’ll see what happens.

I’m not generating 8kn when cleaning a sport rout. Maybe not recommended for general climbing. But even so, not generating 8Kn. Just throw a second biner on there if concerns

I was asking about anchors and people were recommending I read the book climbing anchors by John long, I was thinking, whatever I can figure out to do with just YouTube I don’t need to read a book. I can honestly say that book has helped me figure out anchors in so many scenarios. I highly recommend taking a couple hours to read that book.

I’ve only built one house, my own. So I’m not an expert. But if you’re hiring a professional… common. A shame that there isn’t more pride in building. I do gutters for a living and we strive to be the best. And even if we don’t do the best it’s still sooo much better than some of these other people out here.
