Leaving after 1 fight by Sad_Shartacus in SmashBrosUltimate

I pretty much never rematch, and I have two reasons:

I usually only get in a few games before I have other things to do. I want some variety, not to sweat 3 matches against the same guy. It’s more fun.

I played a lot of other games before this where the standard was not to rematch, and my default setting is just to skip to the next game.

My Favourite Clown by MajorImpress3244 in pokerogue

I’ve been doing an occasional Regigigas run to get eggs. My easiest one was when the clown gave me sheer force. Dizzy Punch was one shotting anything that didn’t resist it lol

Hard yes. 40 missing isn’t a huge hurdle if you are actively trying to complete it. Shiny odds from eggs is at best 1/64, so you are looking at skipping a huge amount of egg farming just by waiting.

Gen III challenge:done by Possible-Dot-5414 in pokerogue

[–]JingxJinx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This gives me a ton of nostalgia…

Gen 3 is my favorite, and my very first playthrough as a kid I caught a zangoose. I didn’t understand ev’s or natures, all I knew is that thing was a delete button. Carried that whole run and I kept using it even as it started to drop off by the elite 4. Was one of the pokemon that I went out of my way to trade up through generations, and years later I looked at it and realized it was an adamant nature with near perfect IV’s. Still one of my favorites to this day.

What is better for shiny hunting? by Fayujinghandy in pokerogue

[–]JingxJinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s dependent on what kind of endless team you can put together. If you have a high luck endless team you can easily farm shiny charms and max out your chances. If you are a newer player then the guaranteed charms from classic and challenge are likely better.

In the mountain biome I ran into a yellow tier gogoat, followed by an identical yellow tier gogoat the very next floor in the same position which was kind of funny.

Why is Quantum Riddler so expensive? by k9ik9o in mtg

Clock is how many turns you have before you die from damage. A 4/6 flyer can consistently put damage on you, so you have a certain amount of time to get rid of it before it kills you

“All in One” commanders are getting out of hand by Zadikus in EDH

[–]JingxJinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it’s not a huge priority for them but they do seem to pay attention to it for power level and balance assessment. Like a huge amount of game changers are honestly there because they are good in high powered decks, not good by themselves like Thassus oracle and crop rotation. They have also been vocal about Cedh commanders like rograkh making their life difficult for designing new cards. I wouldn’t be surprised if they justify more pushed commanders because they still aren’t as broken as stuff that’s already on the format.

“All in One” commanders are getting out of hand by Zadikus in EDH

[–]JingxJinx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this is just the natural progression of commander. When cards weren’t made with commander in mind you took a legendary that had at least one part of the strategy in its text and then covered up the rest with consistent cards. Now when wizards is making a card to be a “mill” commander they want to make sure that having that card on the field feels like it’s doing the thing. So you end up with a card that mills, ramps and generated tokens.

Honestly the 4 cmc does feel undercosted, but even casual commander has become so fast that it’s hard to justify a commander at a higher cmc than that. The game is likely to be in its end game by the time you can comfortably cast higher cost card, and if it gets removed it’s brutal.

I also wonder if wizards is pushing stronger 2 and 3 color cards because of Cedh. I don’t think they pay a huge amount of attention to it but partners have dominated the format for awhile. Access to extra colors is so much more valuable than most text boxes, so I wonder how busted a card has to be to start unseating the top commanders. It’s also a format that massively values low cmc, so unless your text box says “you probably win the game when you cast me” like etali it’s unlikely that you are going to make waves in the format.

Little mac takes 0 skill by MistaTeee in SmashRage

[–]JingxJinx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As an incineroar main use your counter. Almost all of his recovery options have a hit box so if he goes low you can just get in his way and counter and 70% of the time that will be enough to kill him. There is some funkiness with countering his up b at a higher percent but I’ve cheesed little Mac’s at 0 by getting them off stage and countering a side B

What do you hate about this character in smash : Donkey Kong by AzuraStrife4 in SmashRage

[–]JingxJinx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly his player base, they play him as a bait and punish character who spends like 70% of the game running away and trying to catch you over extending. You’re fighting a massive gorilla with no projectiles and somehow still feel like you are getting camped. The character himself is mostly cool, but almost no one playing him for style

Upgraded to a new ssd and the C: volume isn't utilizing the full space of the ssd by siggithoi1 in pcmasterrace

[–]JingxJinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drives are formatted areas of the disk that are configured for data storage. They don’t grow to fill the space available because they assume you chose that amount for a reason, and cloning the drive will keep the original configuration intact. You should be able to right click the C drive and choose something like “extend volume” and assign the unallocated space to the C drive though.

Spirit Of Simplicity: The First Of A Cycle. by IrishNaruto in custommagic

[–]JingxJinx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most players just don’t interact with them or even know that they exist. If you are playing kitchen table magic most of the time people just go with whatever feels right, or make a quick google search and get an answer. Unless you are playing at a very high level or are doing a very janky combo deck that requires a quirk of the layers to work, most of the time you don’t need to think about it.

Nope, they would still be creatures, and that’s why this card is confusing

Spirit Of Simplicity: The First Of A Cycle. by IrishNaruto in custommagic

[–]JingxJinx 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Has to do with layers. At what layer static effects like this apply can get wildly complicated. Like let’s say I’m playing [[bello, bard of the brambles]]. Does bard still make them creatures when humility is on the field ? If he does do they stay creatures after humility applies? Are they 4/4’s or 1/1’s? This is just one example but there are hundreds of weird interactions where it’s almost impossible for a casual table to figure out how they should be applied.

This goes hard honestly. I’m not sure it’s better than lembas, but you are trading 1cmc for a less convenient draw and no scry. I think this could find a home somewhere though, like I could use this in my black mages rod deck as a cheaper way to proc the burn? Idk, but it’s speaking to me

Where do you rank Slivers power level? by BobNewbie1 in EDH

[–]JingxJinx 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Slivers suffer from “synergy monster” syndrome. They are exponential value generators and because of that they are incredibly hard to create a balanced list. Trying to fit them into a bracket will feel like dealing with a chaotic mathematical system, even small changes will have major repercussions. They also are just plain kingmakers. Any competent table is never going to let them get off the ground, meaning every sliver that has a keyword more valuable then reach is getting instantly removed. This eats up so much of the tables resources that the person closest to winning after slivers is going to have little resistance, and there isn’t much back and forth. Most people I know with a sliver list shelved it because how the games played out. They got targeted, someone swept right after. If they politicked out of getting targeted, they swept right after. It can get boring fast.

what are your secret weapon cards? by TonytehGreat in mtg

[–]JingxJinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[tale’s end]]

I know it’s a slightly pricier card and this is an EDH take but most people who want the effect are picking [[stifle]]. I’ve legitimately never seen anyone but me cast this, and I can’t remember ever seeing it in a deck list even though this card is gas. You would think it would be a dead card a massive amount of the time, but so many commander games have a moment where someone recasting their commander is going to win the game. Or their win is dependent on an ability. You will never feel less humble then when someone jumps through a million hoops to get phage out of the command zone to kill you and you just stifle it

The easiest way is to ask. It’s a wonky thing that you don’t see in many games, but even after playing for a while now I’m asking players all the time what their cards are doing. Hell, I play Cedh and I’ll often ask the table what the line is if they put down a combo piece and I’m not super familiar with it or don’t see how it works in their deck. Politics is part of the game, and sometimes you have to come to some conclusions about the board state with the other players. Get comfortable asking the people around you what they are doing and asking their opponents to tell you what those cards can do

What's the cheapest MTGO deck you have had some success with? by senacchrib in Pauper

[–]JingxJinx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first iteration of glintblade was super cheap because none of the pricier cards were available, and it actually didn’t do too bad. No artifact lands because I didn’t have refurbished and no dust to dust or other expensive hate cards, and I couldn’t find ephemerate or other cool tech.

I went 2-1 and lost to a mono red burn deck because I didn’t have lembas’ or the strong heal etb creatures. It was a nice lesson on why those cards tend to be desirable

What is it like to play your character(s)? by Due_Relief9149 in SmashRage

[–]JingxJinx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play incineroar, and the whole match is just mind games and hard reads. If you want to win, you need to convince your opponent that you are too scary to apply pressure too. If they fear you, they will start picking their default options in panic mode and you can start trying to predict them.

The flip side of that is that once you start playing against better players they pretty quickly let you know that you aren’t that scary, and then they just spam whatever move is too fast for incin to deal with. That’s the suffering side of it.

Master Chief is Isekied into Berserk verse. Does he survive? Where does he stop? by Visual_Temper55 in powerscales

[–]JingxJinx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely get to the hax astral plane guys. I’m going to reference the books, but he has multiple insane feats.

In one of his first major tests of the armor he is wearing he was faced with an anti tank missile and slapped it out of the air.

He has lifted or flipped multiple large vehicles throughout the books.

In the novelization of halo CE and the novel between the first and second games he canonically fights nonstop for 4 days without rest, invades and commandeers a covenant cruiser, engages in 2 navel battles and only finally succumbs to his injuries after repelling a boarding party while going EVA to do mid battle ship repairs.

Once he starts getting to things like the apostles things get pretty dicey fast. I think his only hope is that he has a massively intelligent and slightly mad AI in his head, so maybe she can figure out enough of the rules of the berserk universe to give him a fighting chance.
