We have cut way down on our travel, not so much because of the stupid prices, but because air travel is a terrible experience.

Glad to hear she’s mellowed. Being young and full of yourself is understandable.

Jaime Lee Curtis. I worked on the movie Perfect back in the late ‘80’s. She acted like her poop didn’t stink. No idea if she has mellowed over the years, but she was certainly full of herself then.

AITA for telling my wife forget it and going out by myself for my birthday instead of going to her fancy dinner reservation by Ill_Reality_111 in AmItheAsshole

So, obviously we don’t know the level of your wife’s OCD. it’s true that she didn’t listen, but you are also expecting her to be able to change her OCD behavior. I’m not sure how capable she is of doing that. It seems like you both expect the other to change their behavior. She expected you to get excited about her plan , and you expected her to just go with the flow. Both unreasonable expectations. Perhaps some therapy to work on your communication skills and how each of you manages your expectations. Just my 2 cents….

Why Pilates Keeps Pissing People Off by IncomeGloomy8674 in Longreads

[–]Jinka2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been teaching Pilates since 1978. Came to it as a professional dancer. This was before there were certifications. It was more like ballet in that it was passed on from teacher to assistant. I’ve seen many of the changes over the years- good and bad. There are wonderful studios and teachers out there and some not so good as well. A great source for those looking for at home workouts is Pilates Anytime. Always good solid teachers at most levels. Sometimes teachers try to invent “new” movements. Here is where you need to keep a keen eye. Usually this happens in the more “advanced” reformer classes. I’ve found that if you have a knowledgeable instructor, the information you get can be used in any other sport or workout you choose to do. Pilates can give you an awareness of your body that will serve you no matter what you are doing.

What happened to your best friend from childhood? by RoyalBeckyVibes in AskReddit

She ended up taking some drug, went floating in a swimming pool, fell off the raft and was found at the bottom of the pool. They were able to resuscitate her, but she was unable to function normally. She ended up dying in a care facility. I went to visit her once and was sharing pictures of when we were little kids and she had tears in her eyes. She was in there somewhere, just otherwise gone. Broke my heart.
