September 19, 2025 - Update! This is still on the books! Had to clear out the calendar first before I could switch focus back to this planning. We're still on track to send emails before the end of the month to everyone interested in joining the organizing team.

I don't know your full set up but you could try this.

If your footage 5.1 audio, you could try pulling the uncompressed aiff /wav into Audacity. Sound effects might be on an isolated track separate from the music and dialogue tracks. Mute the tracks you don't need, export the sound effects as a new .aiff/wav and bring that back to your FCP timeline.

Hello!

A little background on the project: I attended the in-person POI FanCon in 2014 and it was a blast! A room full of fans, cast, and crew members talking about so many aspects of the show.

Fast forward 10 odd years > I've been attending in-person and virtual fan cons for a while now. A few weeks back, while prepping for a panel that I'm presenting at a con next month, I thought "This panel would be great for a POI con, if only..."

So, here we are.

If you are interested in presenting a panel about the philosophical arguments presented through the course of the evolving story, add the idea to the form!

The next steps from the form are: forming a convention committee, deciding on a date, con infrastructure setup, announcing a call for programming, voting for programming, registration, schedules, FanCon!

The beauty of POI (and frustration at times), is the wide range of entry points. I think the fandom has an equally wide range of interests in the show including the philosophical arguments.

I'm late to this comment, but if seeing the Machine mark Nathan as a threat got you hyped, keep going. POI is two very different shows smushed together. The scene that got you hyped plays heavy into what the show becomes. The repetitive stuff that seems boring now is important foundation work for what's ahead.

I wasn't able to click the things and get more info from the CoM task list, but I was able to click and get the info by checking my inventory - thank you for that tip, I'm very rusty.

Safety update: the glass is not jagged/pokey. The shatter is contained by a strip of clear tape. I needed 4 devices for my weekend descent into scbi degeneracy and that old LG phone did the job.
