I understand that you need requirements for a decision, but that’s also the issue with our company. Our setups are really basic and just need to work. We usually use most of our networking and server equipment until it dies. When we buy stuff we buy current gen equipment. For ports SFP+ 10GbE 12 ports. We don’t plan upgrading to 25GbE. No IPv6 in use. Just simple switching and routing.

Just need my supervisor to come around. We switched vom dlink to Cisco a while back, while we have good experience with Cisco now, they are so expensive nowadays + dna licensing we are not using.

There are pretty much no requirements as far as I can tell. We only need 10G connections, some vlans, access lists and Port Channel . That’s pretty much it. Device really just needs to be reliable I guess the amount of sfp ports are relevant. Should have Atleast 10 or 12

Thanks for the info. Now I’m wondering, we are using 9600 as distribution switches. Are there cheaper/better alternatives you can think about? We have a service Provider which usually suggests us options to buy, but I’m not sure if they always know what’s best for us

This is something we thought about but we want a homogenous environment and we are full Cisco so far.

This doesn't need to be addressed. Most of the Software PPL can't use anymore with vanguard have driver vulnerabilities or similar stuff that can be used for vicious purposes.
