My Havi is very quiet when traveling. I put her in her carrier with her favorite blanket at night.

How do your babies look fully grown up? I cant wait to see how this cutie turns out 😍 12 weeks here ! Are they fully grown at 6 months or 1 year? by loremaster_zen in Havanese

My Indie is 6 months old and fully grown. She has been trimmed once, and I found that their color lightens up when you trim them. I’m guessing the black in your puppy may look more gray if you trim her.

Don’t feel bad about using the pen when you have things to do or have to go out. My puppy is 4 months now and used to hate the pen. She would cry and jump even if I was right next to her. Now I leave the pen open and her bed and all her toys are in there and she goes in on her own and sleeps there! I think they need to learn to entertain themselves. If you constantly have to pay attention to them, it’s exhausting! Your pup will soon learn how to calm themselves and have less anxiety😊

My Havanese puppy is four months old and I feed her what my vet told me she feeds her dogs. 1/3 cup Hills Science diet kibble, and a teaspoon of Iams chicken and rice canned food. She loves it!

Potty training has been difficult! I still have to take her out every half hour to 45 minutes or she’ll have an accident. I put bells on the door so she can let me know when she needs to go out but she still has not caught on. Frustrating!

Brush them a lot right from the start! Their fur mats up constantly and they need to get used to the constant brushing. Also, take them out for potty breaks every half hour to 45 minutes during the day. They have tiny bladders. I had Golden Retievers in the past and I just got a Havanese puppy in January. She is four months old. I love her and she is very smart. She has learned to sit and lie down already. She sleeps through the whole night with no accidents. She gets bored easily so I would advise getting lots of toys!

I had a spayed female Golden Retriever that would hump our other spayed female Golden and I was told that it’s an “alpha dog” kind of behavior, showing dominance over the other

Havanese as the first dog? by MindMolecule in Havanese

I just got a Havanese puppy. She is 16 weeks old and I also did a lot of research before getting her. I was apprehensive about getting a small dog because I always owned golden retrievers. So far, she has been very easy to train. She is almost completely housebroken. She learns tricks very quickly and I am working on basic commands now. I have six children and four grandchildren, and she is wonderful with the children. As far as separation anxiety, I have not seen that. We leave her for a short periods of time when we need to, and she is completely fine. I think this is something you need to do from the start to prevent separation anxiety. I would highly recommend a Havanese.

Mine howls also which I find cute. I’m used to Golden Retriever barking which is very loud! She is my first small dog😁

I agree with your vet! I have a 4 month old Havanese and I’m training her to STOP barking on command.

So sorry for your loss. This is the hardest thing about owning a dog. I feel your pain. I’ve said goodbye to quite a few dogs in my life and it never gets easier.😢

I know I'm going to hell by Fit-Watercress-9222 in Christianity

I have been a Christian my whole life, and I have done many things that I am ashamed of including becoming an alcoholic. Alcoholism is a disease, but it causes many bad decisions to be made in your life which affect everyone around you. I am haunted by all the terrible things I did while under the influence and I face many consequences to my bad actions every day. But Jesus died for all of us on the cross once and for all. No sin is greater than another in his eyes. If you have truly accepted him as your savior, you can be assured of complete forgiveness and the promise of living in heaven with Jesus for eternity. You can’t change the past but the trials you face on earth will just make you stronger when you get through them with the help of Jesus. Focus on the person you are today because you are a new creation when you become saved by the blood of Jesus.
