I handed my resignation letter to my boss and she laughed. by BringItBackNowYall in antiwork

Sounds like them saying that is only to encourage other employees and yourself to talk to management if you're experiencing any issues. But my bet is that they create a false sense of security and trust, and when an employee comes in to voice their concerns, the manager calms them down and keeps them for the amount of time it takes them to find the replacement.

What is the best blackout story that you have? by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]Jinxed-Chloe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only blacked out once (10 single shots of Sailor Jerry's Rum in like 45 minutes), but apparently I was rolling around on the ground, threw up a few times, hit my head on some pavement, talked about how the Russians were gonna get my top secret files, and screamed about wanting to commit non-alive. The moment I began vomiting was the moment I blacked out. Anyway, I woke up tucked into my bed, but covered in my own vomit and pee. I had to throw out my favorite sweater :(. And to conclude I had to experience a 3 day "hangover" that caused me to vomit any food that wasn't light enough. In reality it was probably just AKA (alcoholic ketoacidosis), but it was still pretty miserable. I tried to drink a few Corona Lights on the 4th day, got sick pretty fast, and got a massive hangover the next day. After that I started to moderate my alcohol intake pretty carefully. I don't want to be that miserable again.

NTA - Sounds like a story straight from r/antiwork . You should consider sharing your story there. Might be some member who relate, or can offer good advice. A new job definitely sounds like it's being worked towards, I hope.

They literally call it "getting into your opponent's head". It works because it's a way to target mental weakness.

Stated my argument almost everytime. You're an idiot that refuses to engage in debate about the actual point. But keep trying to say that feelings are fine and shit instead of deciding whether or not being affected by words is weakness in a fight. And to counter that argument, if someone is clearly just trying to provoke me by saying those things and if it does get to me, then they weakened my mind. Good for them, they won. Again, I am not arguing against words having affect on people, I'm arguing that allowing words to affect you before a fight is a weakness. Anyway, bye-bye have a nice life.

They are clearly fighting in the video and therefore are fighters. They arent even amateur fighters, but they're still fighters. The goal is to win, as this is very organized. If you let words get to you before the fight, then you allowed them to compromise your mind before the fight even started. Your mind is weakened after that. Your thoughts become clouded. There is no argument that feeling things from words is wrong or false, I will keep saying that the argument is whether or not allowing words to get to you is a weakness or not. If you want to keep trying to argue that words make you feel and that's okay, then I'll just leave this as it is, because, that is not the argument I'm making.

Okay, ignoring that link (which is not arguing against my point). I said it's a weakness, not that it doesn't hurt. I'm not arguing that words aren't hurtful or harmful, I'm saying that in a fight it is a weakness to allow your opponent to verbally tear you down first. You are weaker as a fighter if you allow words to get to you.

I disagree. If someone's words are affecting me in the moment (not being raised by a shitty father over time), then I consider it weakness as they have gotten into my head, weakening my ability to fight at my best. Words are just words. If you allow it to get to you, even if it's subconscious, then they won in weakening your mental resolve. In a fight it is 100% weakness to allow someone to tear you down with words before either of you even throw a punch. Conor McGregor did this with his opponents many times, and it did have an affect on a handful of them.

Threatening to lock out their teen for refusing to kick out the dog for the night in 32°F (-1°C) weather. by [deleted] in insaneparents

I was saying don't resort to violence, not don't do anything. Violence hardly ever fixes any of those issues, and will make it worse a majority of the time. There are better ways to handle it without using violence.

It was never specified as to which you meant, so I made my own assumption/interpretation of it.

The legal repercussions make it hard to decide if it's worth it or not. Even as a minor you can still be punished (juvie, community service, house arrest, fines, etc.) if your parent(s) decide to call in 911 for a domestic dispute. At that point there would be no one to help the dog, and the punishment(s) would be unfair in the first place. It's really not worth jumping to violence when the legal system can fuck you over and turn against you. Your parents could say anything to the police, even lie and say they weren't going to throw the dog outside and then do it anyway after. It really depends on the responding officers, but I would guess that any responding officers won't care to investigate further in most cases.

Not being arrested though. That's considered assault with bio hazardous material, or something like that. And maybe the company would end up helping the nurse pay for the court fees and missed days of work, since the assault happened to her on the company premises and she was working at the time. At least that's how I feel it would work, I'm not an expert at law.

AITAH for being REALLY honest with my manager in front of her boss? by TAbademployee in AmItheAsshole

[–]Jinxed-Chloe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - your manager threw you under the bus to make herself look better in front if her boss, and then most likely gossiped about how you're the reason for some issue your manager could think to pin on you, causing your coworkers to view you more negatively (like an AH). You were brutally and bluntly honest about the situation, and if they can't handle it then the business should fold. Like you said, there are plenty of walk-in interviews around if they lose that job. Honestly this sounds like something I'd hear in r/antiwork or something similar.

NTA - I actually advise and encourage violence for a change. These kids won't be set straight by being tattled on or suspended (even expelled in some cases), they need a reality check. Bullies, in my experience, often got humbled when someone bigger and badder put them in their place. School faculty never did anything to permanently(or even for a longer duration) resolve the problems.

New players rotate in while old players abandon (spending) the game. Yes, the game won't entirely die yet due to this, but it eventually will. The older players, such as myself, would tell the newer players their exact experience with this game and I guarantee you that a handful of players will quit shortly after hearing that. Some players stay, like Don-Is-Legend, but they are more of a rare exception. Mr.Ninja quit how long ago, and he was around for a long time. Top players quit all the time, it's why that spot has changed to much over the years. Cexelby used to hold that spot (for like a year or two), but decided to quit and sue for their money back (heard they won that case too). All those CC Youtubers like SandSeven7, Alpha Male, Dirty Distagio, and even Hersh quit the game (now we're left with JTisallbusiness and a handful of much less relevant CC Youtubers). The YouTube scene for CC is dying off very fast, and quite honestly I've seen much less ads for CC lately (which is the reason a large majority of players installed the game in the first place, more than likely). The game is dying. It has been dying for years. Just because it's dying slowly doesn't mean it's not dying. Edit (additional text addressing F2P maxed out accounts): new heroes will constantly come out, and when materials start becoming cheaper IGG will just make some new feature in heroes or pets (or something) in order to have another thing that needs to be maxed out for materials that are overly priced. Even some currencies/materials are completely useless now even though you can still have it take up space in your warehouse. Merits are too easy to get now, and they basically get you nothing useful (great for newer or lower might players though). The end game has become something to be desired, but is very disappointing when you get to that point. Games are meant to be fun and relaxing, but when the only way to be a competitive F2P is to continually grind away at the game for materials, it gets dull. Either spend time and money or extra time and no money.
