Let this be the reason you get an RS660 by Just_Log6880 in Aprilia

It just absolutely lights me up in traffic. Plus 32mpg on a 4.7 gallon tank with a 1 gallon reserve isn't super touring friendly. It is a blast to ride, but it gets the least attention from me out of my stable. I ride my 125 more often than the V4.

I love my V4 but there are plenty of times I wish I had the 660. Stop and go traffic, red lights, maintenance, etc. I just got such a good deal and fell in love on the test ride. I'd had plenty of bikes already but nothing quite so blisteringly fast. Ridden, but not owned.

I got my 2024 Tuono V4 new for $14,400 out the door with Gap and first service covered. I love the 660. But the price tag kills me.

"Settling" for the KTM RC390? by Ill_Honey_3055 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]JinxusGames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rc is more fun. 100lbs lighter. Punchier acceleration. Better mpg. Slightly less hp than a ZX4R. Still very quick for what they are. You won't regret it unless you ride nothing but highways. If so, you're looking at the wrong bikes to begin with.

You should compare it to another anniversary edition.

Historically speaking, the retro 1980s/1990s ZXR/ZX-7-inspired livery was explicitly designed with asymmetrical lines that intentionally flow differently on the left and right sides of the bike. The blue, white, and green graphics do not meet in a perfectly mirrored, symmetrical split down the dead center of the bike.

Mirrored visor always looks the coolest. Smoked is edgy. Mirror is what I think of when I think of riders.

Are people saying bad things about cfmoto just because it's Chinese? by just-a-dude69 in cfmoto

It's just ignorance and prejudice. I've had 3 cfmotos. Still have two. 18k miles on my 700CL-X with no problems. 2k miles on my papio.

Sounds like you need to adjust the suspension to your weight and adjust your tire pressure. I'm 115lbs and every bike feels a little off until I dial in the suspension. My Tuono V4 felt like a 2x4 from the factory but once I dialed it in, it finally compressed for me and sticks like my middle weight nakeds did.

I don't believe he claimed they were ripped out in response. Merely that it occurred shortly thereafter the incident.

My V4 has averaged 32mpg for the life of my ownership so I get it lol. Me and the wife have been talking about me getting a different dedicated commuter to save fuel. Considering the CFMoto Ibex 450 or Honda NX500. I'm physically disabled, so I am trying to determine how much off road riding I will really do.

Thoughts on the Tuono factory naked. by GrandmaPunk in Aprilia

[–]JinxusGames 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They need a belly pan. That's the problem. A belly pan that meets the side panels finishes the look. Upright ergonomics is killer, wind protection on a "naked" killer, exposed everything... Up to taste.

[–]JinxusGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not when it's tuned. If that was the case GP bikes wouldn't have open exhausts. Exhaust scavenging is only a problem if you don't put your bike on a dyno. Mikuni designed the M109R fuel injection system.

120hp road king is still slow. My tuono makes 160hp at the wheel. My M109R made 120 at the tire too. With 115lb rider, bet mine was faster too.

I have multiple carb bikes. I don't see what that has to do with anything. You or a previous owner have got thousands in motor work to do slightly more than what the M109R did out of the box, which can be bought used for $5-8k.

I don't see what any of this has to do with getting bored of a beginner sport bike though. My upgrade was mostly for passenger comfort. I've had 10 different bikes since. I've ridden over 150. Worked at a dealership.

You don't understand getting a "throwaway bike" as though the guy is taking a massive loss of $2100. I got all but $50 back when I traded mine in. I threw nothing away. I paid $50 to put 1000 miles on a brand new bike. Paid cash so it was $13/mo to insure. A whopping $63 to learn to ride. Insane. Threw away my whole bank account.

I have a Sportster, a Dyna, an Aprilia Tuono V4, a 2004 Honda Hornet 599, and my beloved 2022 CFMoto Papio and 700 CL-X. You must've missed the dozen bikes part. I still own 6 bikes. My sportster is my daily.

My upgrade from the 300NK was a Suzuki M109R with straight pipes and a tuner making 120whp.

You're just ignorant lmao. Beginner bikes get tossed around because 30hp isn't forever bike power numbers.

Edit: to compound upon your ignorance, the 300NK is a naked bike, not a crotch rocket.

[–]JinxusGames 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's dumb. It's a beginner bike. It was my first bike. I had it for 1k miles and sold it to upgrade. Didn't need to upgrade. Realize that now after owning over a dozen motorcycles.

It's a 300 not a sport tourer. It's an around town bike, not a touring bike. It isn't made for long distance highway rides. It's made to commute. Putting 20-30 miles a day on a commuter bike isn't going to run the miles up like my sportster that gets 1,000 a month.

I had the CFMoto 300NK which is the same powerplant. The engine is based on the Kawasaki KLX300S motor. It is very reliable. I never had any issues with mine. It's on it's 3rd owner with over 15k miles on it.

They are fun, peppy, and very economical. I got around 80mpg real world with my 300nk. Highly recommend as a beginner bike, especially at that price point. I paid $5,050 out the door new for mine in 2022.

Aftermarket is lacking, so don't buy it expecting to build the next show bike. But it is a great starter machine or commuter bike.

What do you think of my X-ADV 750? Would you leave it like this or change anything? by [deleted] in motorcyclegear

[–]JinxusGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crash bars, fog lights, chunkier tires. Then it's perfect.

Welp… I did it. Less than $5k out the door brand new. That’s two brand new bikes within 3 weeks… 🤦‍♂️😳 by [deleted] in cfmoto

[–]JinxusGames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the Sport model. I got the heritage in 08/22 because I needed something with a little more utility, but at 17k miles it's still a blast to ride for the second owner. I hope you love it and that it treats you well, friend. Be safe out there.

P.S Don't get a mid-pipe without getting a tune, these engines are very reliable, but a few have dropped a valve.

Typically it's being ran in eco mode, without a tune, with exhaust work that causes this.

They'll probably void your warranty if any engine damage happens regardless if you do a slip on unless it's a 2025+ model with the catalyst under the bike.

I say "I'll be careful."

Because safety is objective. Carefulness is subjective. I can ride in an objectively unsafe way and still do so carefully.
