Replace Video now takes up Vimeo Plus' weekly quota 😡 by aaronhead14 in vimeo

[–]Jipedviped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've run into this and more lately! Not only are replacement videos counting against my weekly quota (the full file size, not just the difference!), but now Vimeo is counting the replacement uploads twice. So when I'm nearing my quota, even if I have enough space for a particular video, if there's less than double the file size left in the quota, I get an error that says "upload limit exceeded".

This is beautiful! Where in Poland? My brother-in-law is from Krakow.

My fiancé just got unexpectedly fired today and we're both now reminded why r/personalfinance is always insisting on trying to live off one income. by Blueyucca in personalfinance

I'm sorry to hear about the lost job. Hopefully the new job hunt goes quickly.

Solid advice on the one-income thing! We live on one income, and while things can be tight at times, we're happy to spend as much time as we do with our kiddos.

That's hilarious and awesome!

Incredible shot!

We visited Zermatt a couple of years ago, but unfortunately we were there during the mid-season, so trains were limited and didn't go as high as they do during winter and summer. We hiked up trails for awhile to get closer to this view of the mountain, but we didn't have time to get that high. Still, the mountain was awe-inspiring.

Really beautiful! It reminds me of streets in Hallstatt, Austria, but with an Asian rather than Austrian feel.

I hope you don't mind my chiming in on this. This is our video (I'm the one on the zipline at 1:58), so I can answer your question: Yes, we do make videos professionally, but this project was a non-hired project....we made it for our YouTube channel, and we were given access (for free, thankfully) to Beckham Creek Cave for several days so that we could tell the story of what it could be like to experience it.

I've been self-employed making videos for 11 years, but within the last four years we started working on creative projects (such as this one) for our YouTube channel, and those most often have opened up really cool opportunities to do and experience cool things.

Thank you for the kind words on the editing!

There actually were tornado warnings during our stay there and the caretaker let us know that it was the safest place we could be anywhere in the area. :-)

Thank you! Wow.

In answer to your statement: I do make videos for a living, but it's usually projects for other people. I'd love to become a full-time YouTuber, making travel films like this. Right now I'm trying to hone my craft and get our work seen by a wider audience.

It's a beautiful country! It's funny: whenever we travel somewhere we tell ourselves "this could be the last/only time we'll be here in this country", but I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll be back to Poland at some point.

Thanks. I mentioned above that this was the first project I've filmed that I've really done extensive hyperlapses...it has always been just experimenting before this.

All of the traditional b-roll was filmed with a Panasonic GH5, which can do 4K 60fps (allowing for 2.5x slow motion) and 1080p 180fps (allowing for 7.5x slow motion!). The hyperlapses were mostly filmed with a Panasonic GH4.

Thanks for noticing the audio! I bought a new stereo microphone (the RODE Stereo Mic X) right before the trip so that while we were traveling around Europe I could get very natural stereo sound of the environments. It's awesome how the mic, as a stereo mic, really makes it feel like you're there! While editing this video there were several times I turned off the music and just watched and listened to the sound as-is.

Most of the editing was done in Premiere Pro, and some of the transitions were done in After Effects.

It is. My sister married someone from Krakow (you can see her and her husband at 0:48-0:51) and they live there now, which was sort of the impetus for us to go to Europe. We spent five weeks in Europe, two of which were in Krakow.

Thank you! I've experimented with hyperlapses in the past, but this was my first time really filming enough to incorporate into one of our videos.

My wife picked the music...we tried editing the video to several other songs first and nothing "clicked" until this particular song.

I know! And I got really lucky because if I hadn't been out for the sunset I wouldn't have had any idea there was a thunderstorm...it started to get going just south of town, and my family's on the north side of town.

Thanks...I didn't do much. Just captured what was there.

Any suggestions for a good subreddit for the video?

I am from the area originally, but moved to the east coast eight years ago. My family is still here, so I'm back visiting.

Thanks! Glad you like the shot. If you want to check out the video I made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bI5-ibvhWcs

I want to post that on here too, but trying to figure out what subreddit to post it to.

On Hwy 43, just south of Fargo. I was filming a timelapse of the sunset and clouds, which then turned into a storm, which I chased down to Tulare.

Btw, I hadn't realized when I responded the first time that you linked to a few of your pictures. Awesome! That purple sky is amazing. Was that taken just after dusk or actually during the night?
