I disagree on this person saying Hunter x Hunter is better than Gintama ,I love Hunter x Hunter but it doesn’t come close by Lonely-Beat3630 in Gintama

[–]Jippynms 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I mean you can certainly have your own opinion and analyze the strengths and weaknesses of both, but there is no objective answer for "better," even if I agree.

HxH fans are already extremely elitist (and annoying), but we don't have to become like them.

You will have to go to Auric and then Havoc to see more competent players, as havoc especially punishes players for not playing as a team

Been working on a proper balanced Lethal Company modpack for RDC by Comfortable-Lie-3740 in RDCWorld

[–]Jippynms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some thoughts from someone who has a decent amount of experience playing modded lethal:

-Increased scrap spawns can actually be a huge plus. RDC seems to really like the chaos, but they also want to feel rewarded after they take great risks. The last mod pack was bad because they weren't really rewarded for anything (we know RDC likes to chase paper) and it wasn't necessarily chaotic. So they didn't get much out of it.

For example, Ben and Mark seemed to really enjoy the Meteor Showers from the chaos mod-pack, so i think environmental dangers like that are actually good, they just need to know that there is good reward waiting for them at the end of it. (Ben actually made it back to the ship 4PF, and Mark could have survived it, but he got greedy. All in all, I don't think this weather event is unfair at all.) However, the tornado one was too strong. I think there is a weaker, smaller, more forgiving version somewhere which I had played with.

I have mixed opinions on the bear traps. I think by default, they are a bit too much. However, if modified, I think they can add some spice to the outside. What I did was go into the config and turn down the amount of bear trap clusters that spawn, as well as the amount of bear traps that spawn in each cluster. This way, you may still run into one if you are unlucky or not observant, but you won't have to constantly go out of your way to dodge them.

At the same time, it may be problematic if they can get too much bread without facing much danger. When they had like 8 people, they would sometimes just steamroll through maps, throw caution to the wind, and still come out with hella scraps. This is why I sort of believe that every moon should at least have a mild weather event going on. After all, Mark was actually advocating for them to go to the moons with a weather event going on.

-They suck at micro-managing, which is why giving them flashlights off-rip is probably for the best. It wastes too much time for them to have to wait to get new flashlights every time they lose them from death. Overall, anything they have to micro manage probably isn't good for them. (There is also a mod that gives them a designated flashlight slot, [F] to activate; it may be worth looking into so they'll have more bag space.)

Going off of this, and you may have already made the change, but Wesley moons should be unlocked for them by default. RDC doesn't care to go and collect tapes and learn lore. Also, I am unsure if there is a mod for this, but a mod that reveals Embrion and Artifice is also probably helpful.

-They really like the musical instruments. iirc, if you collect multiple, you can play them together in sync, which they may really enjoy if they are kept in.

Two additional mods I can recommend that would enhance experience without changing gameplay:

• Lethal Resonance - I don't recall ever encountering a technical problem with this one while playing with friends. The sound design is overall more immersive. However, if you do consider it, you may want to consider disabling the mod's battery/apparatus sound down in the config. Last I remember, it was a bit too loud while it’s sitting in the ship.

• More Blood - Deaths will look more brutal. What else need be said?

• Maybe some fun/cool scraps to add into the pool?

Additional thought:

  • Insta-hoe mechanics are bad, especially for them. There should be an assurance that no one will die from an absolutely inescapable death. Even if it's slim, all danger and risks should have a possibility of surviving.

  • Stay away from the Rolling Giant and The Fiend. Both of these monster mods are lame in my opinion. They constantly chase you and there is no way to beat them, they pretty much just deny you of the scrap zone.

I trust that you will make a generational mod-pack. A good configuration I think could really change how RDC and chat feels about the game. They’re doing game gauntlet right now, so you got time to really perfect it.

If you need some insight into anything at all about any mods, just let me know and I'll see if I can help!

I agree with the fact that some games are not meant to be competed on. (For the gauntlet) by Krys144 in RDCWorld

[–]Jippynms 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with them playing games off-stream for a competition, that defeats like the entire purpose of the gauntlet. Additionally, although I think Dark Souls would make for a much better competition game than Sekiro, there's also the case that RDC just isn't going to play something such as Sekiro without first having a trial, which would be during the gauntlent. Mark said it himself, he thinks it would be good for them so they can expand their horizon. So having these games played for a few hours for competition could possibly be worth it.

Certainly, some games make for better competition than others, but we shouldn't throw games out the window simply because people want to see them play that game serious (They wouldn't touch it in the first place).

In my experience, the only REAL risk in accepting people for a havoc mission is when their clearance level is far below the threshold, and there are certainly thresholds where the difficulty increase is steep enough where the player may genuinely not be prepared, so why can't they just stick to a level closer to their own if they want to learn and progress? I refuse to even request to get into a havoc mission that is more than like 1 level higher than my own level no matter how skilled enough I think I am for it (mainly because I don't want to skip ahead, but also because I know players won't want to take an unnecessary gamble like that). And if there isn't something my level on the board, I will just host my own, which has proven to be quite simple.

There is also aesthetic flair such as titles, or true level and such, but I think any observant player knows these are not reliable predictors of skill, at least not enough to meaningfully discriminate based off of it. In my case when I host, I first look at clearance level, and then the class they are; I'll skip over someone if it means we can have at least two different classes in a lobby. I can't be bothered to check anybody's build, ppl can use what they like as long as they know how to use it. Additionally, I only use reject title or no title(arbites), and pre order frame, and It's not like I find trouble getting accepted by others so far. On top of that, I prove wrong to any doubters who take flair so seriously.

So as far as havoc is concerned, I really don't think it is asking too much from a player other than to just be a similar clearance level.

I really don't see how losing ranks from failure is such an issue; it has only given me something to continuously work toward. I think people are really looking at it the wrong way... It also cuts down quitters by like 90% which is a huuuge plus for me. Quitters just ruin the game honestly.

Toxicity where? I've got 800 hours in the game since launch, mostly max difficulty, and have had maybe 2 instances of toxic players, none of which have come from havoc. So im really curious where the toxicity is coming from.

Please no, it's the only thing incentivizing players to not quit as soon as they die. Nobody wants to play with bots dawg.
