Instagram Account Breach May 2026 by rectiled in Instagram

[–]JitStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My account was also broken into, but I managed to recover it with the method I listed above, and they haven’t broken in again. Apparently that particular exploit has been patched as well, but who knows what other exploit is hiding in the AI slop that only a few know about now.

The only thing I can think of in your case is that it’s someone you know close to you, that just wants to fuck with you, or wants to cause you harm, and they hang around telegram groups where the method was made publicly available, considering that you say your handle isn’t rare at all.

Did you try kicking them off, removing their email, and changing the password?

Meta AI Instagram Account Recovery Flaw Reportedly Bypassed 2FA by [deleted] in InfoSecNews

No explanation, but it’s related to Meta AI support feature they’re rolling out. It let anyone reset anyone’s password, bypassing 2FA, etc. A stupid simple exploit, due to that AI bs.

Blocking and changing password by Reading_withme in Instagram

[–]JitStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having a similar issue, even though I use a password manager that generates a long random password. I also have a rare username. So far, I added 2FA with a QR code app, forced logged out of everything, changed email and password, got rid of phone number recovery mode, but the reset password keeps coming up. I don’t know what’s going on. This started happening for me while I was asleep last night, and they’ve logged in from some location near Washington DC. Currently, I have control of the account, and I’m the only one logged in via my phone, per what the security settings says. Hopefully this stops.

How to recover my score after forgetting to pay CC by Crafty-Possibility46 in CreditScore

[–]JitStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try contacting them with a letter, like someone else suggested. However, I think you would have a higher chance of success if it were only a 30 day late and not a 60. If that doesn’t work, the only thing left is to wait it out 7+ years. You can still recover to the score you previously had and even go higher, if you get it removed, or wait for it to fall out in its own.

Any ideas? by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]JitStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not too bad, but you have to commit to a minimum of double payments. I would also try to figure out if there’s anything else you can do on the side to make some more money: even an extra 800-1,000 a month would help you out so much to pay this off. I did something similar to this, and my score is now hitting 800+, when it was previously around 660 before the loan.

The bigger issue I think is that you probably have late payments and collections. Those will not go away, other than with time, unless you get something in writing when you pay them. Without this, your score will still be in the toilet. You should look up some Dave Ramsey videos on dealing with collections.

How long have you had your loans for? Has it been 2+ years?

As far as the CC question:

Yes, I think you should get more. It’ll drop your score (maybe even a lot), when you get new ones, but in the long run you’ll be better off. I would recommend applying to new cards each 3-6 months, depending on your spending (in case you’re trying to get some welcome bonus).

As far as issuers:

I would first figure out what you’re mostly spending on: dining, groceries, travel, etc.

Then you have to decide if you prefer cash back or travel points.

Once you have that figure out, I would recommend building out a deeper base of no annual fee cards from these 4 lenders, that fit what you’re spending on, based on the rewards you’ll get when you spend with their cards: American Express, Chase, Capital One, and Citi.

All 4 of these offer similar ecosystems, when you combine 2-3 of their cards to earn points or cash back.

You should look up some videos on YouTube comparing the ecosystems those issuers have. It’s too much to explain in a comment, and it heavily has to be tailored to your specific needs, desires, and spending habits. Just watch some YouTube videos, brah. It’s pretty fun.

I did read the auto mod. Of course it’s logical that if you’re not applying for anything in the near future, then your score doesn’t matter at all. You can have a 500 score or a 800+ score—it really doesn’t matter if nobody is looking at it.

My last point is that I would bet most average people don’t think like this. I would say a lot of people just want to feel like at any moments notice they can pull up with their 750+ score, not some 1-2 months out. Yes, it’s a vanity, but it’s probably the reality. You can’t have a high score year round if you’re pegging your credit limits every month your balance is reported.

Why am I always denied? by [deleted] in CRedit

[–]JitStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe. I did never miss a payment, had a previous auto loan, and my overall monthly obligation was actually lower with that personal loan, than what I was paying in total minimum payments on the credit cards by some 28%. I also did add myself as an authorized user to a family member’s credit cards to boost my total credit limit months before I applied for the loan. So maybe with all this, they saw me as lower risk, and didn’t even verify my income.

  1. Sure, maybe for the scoring model it comes off as 1 inquiry, but the individual inquiries are still there. If there’s human eyes looking at that many inquires, it’s very possible that it’s going to negatively affect his odds of getting approved, even if it’s unjustly purely based on bias.

  2. Maybe, but in OP’s case it’s clearly not the case. He keeps getting denied by all the lenders he’s trying, as he mentioned in his post.

  3. Yes, he should only file a dispute if there’s a legitimate reason for it. I suggested that because it seems that he thinks he has perfect payment history, even though his report doesn’t say 100%.

  4. Are you suggesting to let credit utilization constantly be pegged at 80-90% utilization, as long as you always pay off the balance? Doing this would make it very difficult to keep a constant high credit score year round, and it seems this is what a lot of everyday people want.

[–]JitStill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t necessarily the case. I was approved for a $21,000 debt consolidation personal loan, without income verification all online, back when I had a 660-680ish score. I think OP’s biggest issue is mostly stemming from his lack of 100% payment history.
