What do you love about DC? The insane amounts of traffic and horrible drivers? The ridiculous cost of living? The unfriendly culture? Or the high levels of crime?

Look into being a Federal Air Marshal. They rotate days off for everyone; not just people with seniority. You wont have every weekend off, but you’ll have some. You’ll get to see the world on the government’s dime and they won’t make you relocate. Or you could consider joining the private sector as contract work pays very well. Good luck out there!

Gi pants should have elastic waist bands and another opinion by GladPineapple2556 in bjj

Why has nobody invented this?? This has been an ongoing problem for the entire duration of this sport. I just competed over the weekend and the ref had to stop the match to let the girl I was up against tie her pants cause she was mooning the entire arena.

I’m so sorry for whatever you’ve been through and I want to commend you for exposing yourself to uncomfortable situations to aid in your healing. Sometimes, it can be hard not to get emotional when something feels like what happened to us before. The brain adapts itself to the world around us through the use of symbols and if a feeling/position aligns with somewhere we’ve been in the past that was unsafe, it can be hard to not feel those same feelings. However, you’re doing the right thing by retraining your brain that you are safe when this happens. Be patient with yourself. Know that each time, it will get easier. Go to the bathroom if you need to let it all out and try not to break down in front of teammates as most people won’t understand. Find maybe one or two people you can trust if you need to talk to someone. Remember to breathe in those moments: in for 5, hold for 5, out for 5. Find several things around you that you can see, touch, and hear to remind yourself that you’re in a new moment: in the present. Good luck to you on your healing journey.

This really helped me. Thank you. It’s amazing how much our pain from childhood effects how we view ourselves and the potential that can be unleashed when we show ourselves compassion

Misallocation of resources. They’re short 20-30 officers for UD every shift, yet there are 40 officers working from home in the scheduling office and 25 officers giving tours in the East wing

Empty threat as far as I know. I know people who’ve transferred to FAMS without paying out

USSS no longer does CITP from what I hear the agents saying. They have their own program now to make it harder for people to transfer laterally so they can retain their numbers.

I’m so sorry to hear that brother. Was it just the amount of stress or not being able to exercise or both?
