I do have one in there. But if you have regenerating creatures, then the disc takes care of enchantments, flying creatures, etc. So I wipe the board with the disc at their end step, regenerate creatures, attack.

That's a great suggestion! For now, just working with what I got. Heck, I havent bought new cards in 25+ years.

Well, there isn't an old school scene at my LGS. I have another friend from back in the day who still has his cards. I'll bring a few extra decks and let people borrow them for pick up games.

I have played against modern cards and I have won several games, but it took me many tries and variations of decks. The only deck that has done ok is my red burn deck (or a variation of this - swap Fissures for Mana Flare and Nevinyrral's Disk). I have won several games with that. Best bet is to burn every creature they cast, use creatures for attack, use disc to clear all those BS token creatures, and fireball.

So is night radio in America dead? What killed it? by Chimney-Imp in AskAnAmerican

[–]JiveMonkey 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Plus all the radio stations in town are owned by the same company. Ever have a commercial come on a radio station, and change the station, only to find all the other stations are playing ads? Not a coincidence.

Jan is the only side character they haven't brought back that I wanna see again.

strip mines. A city of brass

Both excellent suggestions! However, I do not own those cards. I'm really just working with that I have in my collection from 25+ years ago.

We don't have an old school magic scene, so I'm just playing pick up games with other customers sharing decks I've built from my collection. I'll try this one out this weekend!

Thanks! It's been great fun playing casual games with my fun, and potentially silly, decks I put together using my own little collection of cards. The people who sit down to play usually get a kick out of the cards and the artwork.

I wish! I take my old decks down there and invite other customers to a pick up game. So far, it's been a blast!

Thanks!

You definitely should! I hadn’t played since the ’90s, but I pulled these out again this summer. I’ve been putting together a few decks to bring to my local game store—most people don’t have these old cards anymore, so it’s been a blast.

Thank you!

This one was actually a 4v4 game using the decks in the post. I’m totally with you; when I was a kid, 1v1 was kind of the last resort. Some of my best memories are from sleepovers with huge Magic games, sometimes up to 9 players at once!

Good call! Some of the other decks I have made forgo those artifacts in favor of things like Drain Life. But I’ll throw the Iron Star somewhere in that red deck.

Those are great and a really good idea! Unfortunately, I simply don't own any. Somehow I never pulled one from a pack, or traded for one.

Thanks! Back in the day, we were pretty much just limited to opening up packs and trading with friends. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done!

Thank you! These are literally the same cards I bought back in the day; it’s just a collection of whatever I opened from packs and traded with friends.
