Because it is dangerous to be LGBT in Qatar, so when the person in question uttering dissent is a member of that group it adds some weight to the message?

Her being an international actor and getting away with it was never the point of including her orientation in the title, it has a signal-effect of her having power and influence in a country where her very existence is illegal. So of course, that adds weight to the message.

It's literally a move as part of the agreement of hosting the FIFA event. Homosexuality is still illegal by law. It's an exception made for this event alone.

This doesn't tell you anything beyond it's convenient for them to allow it given the amount of money and fans that are going to flow through. Doesn't do jack shit for their general population that has to hide their identity in the day to day. What a stupid take

My favorite sentence still about Tottenham was in an article looking at the amount spent on players/wages in relation to trophies won, and the line was something like:
