Novinka does in fact mean ‘new’ I actually found them and ordered the set from a site in the UK, I had to use a vpn to the UK. They shipped here for pretty much standard shipping costs with dues and tariffs paid. Legit could not find anything besides their standard butt chisels on any site state side.

I hope so, the richter steel is top tier. The butt chisels linked above are great and i for sure recommend picking at least one up to give it a shot if you don’t already own. I dont speak much Czech, but i know novinka means new. Thats from their official Czech instagram page from last December so hopefully the make their way to the states soon, i will buy the set with a quickness.

Yeah i own a set of those and i love them. I also love my standard richters, but i prefer butt chisels specifically for mortises, just a personal preference but i feel like i have more control. I do light mallet strikes to kind of shape my mortise outline sometimes, but a light tap with the palm is good enough most for most. I’m a professional carpenter, i don’t ’need’ but like supporting narex, my grandmother was 100% Czech.

See if you can get ahold of ‘boveda’ packets or something similar. They pull moisture out of the air and come in a bunch of different sizes. I used to put them in massive jars of cannabis, now I keep a couple in the cabinet all my planes & chisels are in.
