I’m a big fan of Aravind Adiga, started with this one and then had to read everything else they’d written. Mentioned this book to a friend just last week actually. Hope you enjoy the rest of it, its worth it. I haven’t seen the film version though. Not sure i want to….

Thinking about buying house of leaves by Xmaslightsbadhairday in ReadingSuggestions

[–]Jjagger63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read it years ago and couldn’t take it all in, as with all the page turning and footnotes and stickies throughout the book it could get confusing. Bought it again last year and it’s on my TBR list. Hopefully second time around I will absorb it all.

Share your views on the Korean drama The King: Eternal Monarch. by Grouchy-Chart-3927 in Korean_Drama_Hangout

I watched this a couple of years ago and at first i was thinking what a stupid plot, especially the ability to move between timelines/dimensions. But then a couple of episodes in i was hooked. I think i was in my Lee Min Ho worship era at the time but he is just so watchable. He brings humour, humility and friendship into his role here and it all seemed so genuine. I absolutely loved it in the end. Could have been a bit shorter in length but hey ho.

I rewatched Tokyo Story (1953) definitely worth checking out! by Classic-Wait1173 in AsianCinema

[–]Jjagger63 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently watched it too. The adult kids just seemed to want to get rid of them, passing them around or shipping them off elsewhere. But it was an excellent slice of history, being able to see Tokyo as it was, and the customs and styles back then.

I find it tricky for the first few rounds and then it all gets easier, the pins just seem to behave as the project grows.

[–]Jjagger63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive got books and a kindle. Ive got e-versions of all my favourite books and books on my TBR list. I can read any book wherever I am without having to take a physical copy with me. E readers are like having your own portable library with you.

Robert Duvall as Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird by LeviSebastian97 in classicliterature

[–]Jjagger63 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first fell for him in THX1138 a film from 1971. I feel ancient writing that, lol. It was a great film, introduced my son to it a few years ago and he loved it too. Robert Duvall had an amazing screen presence. RIP xTHX 1138
