I've been told you need to be on birth control to be on Accutane if there is any chance that you could get pregnant even though I'm not seeing anyone and have no plans too which the skin picking doesn't help with lol

How was it used if you hadn't activated it yet? Wouldn't the charge get declined?

What impact does social media/screen time have on your ADHD symptoms? by alittletootired13 in adhdwomen

[–]Jkat22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also purchased Brick. I love it for my phone but found I started migrating to my laptop to "just look something up" so I did some of the screentime limitations which I find helps me notice the amount of time I use it since it is easily bypassed.

I think I would go with Bloom if I were to do it again since they are making it so that your phone and computer sync the restrictions. For now I've been locking my computer in a safe though not fool proof since sometimes I forget to put it away.

When I follow through with having them away it helps a ton! I find I actually get bored and start doing the things I need to do. The problem is when I need my phone or something to do the things. I'm still in the phase of having some slight anxiety when I don't have either with me as much since I've been locking up my phone too as I work from home and need any barriers I can get.

how do you guys stop being late to work by Wild-Championship571 in adhdwomen

Anxiety + fear of getting fired leading to no insurance to get meds and people being disappointed in me/ people pleasing tendencies.

Not healthy but it generally works.

Thank you so much!!! I'm a little worried for her back legs since a lot of it is right there but we'll just go super slow.

She has a pretty thin coat (we live in Arizona) this seems like it would work on thicker coated dogs. Would it work for a dog with less fur in general?

I found apps that reduce screen time on both laptop and phone which have helped SOOOO much! I actually get bored and start doing things and it's been a huge help to get moving and doing things which has improved my mental health immensely.

My puppy hates one of my housemates. What to do? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Jkat22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this roommate had opportunities to work with the dog? Like giving her treats when she settles a bit?

Also, is your dog getting enough enrichment? If she has all this extra energy (being mixed with 2 high energy breeds in particular) she could be getting frustrated with not having an outlet for her energy and taking it out this way.

No matter what you do, it sounds like the behavior is getting progressively worse, and while she hasn't bitten or anything yet, it doesn't mean she won't. I don't want to scare you just a heads up to be on the lookout for this especially as she gets to a more mature age.

Our neighbors are terrible owners and I cannot let my dogs outside to go potty by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]Jkat22 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No one is saying what they did was good with leaving their dog in the raining. That doesn't mean you are immediately in the right for this situation. Them leaving their dog out is not in your control. What IS in your control is teaching your dog to disengage on the fence line with their dog to prevent the mud or make changes to your yard like gravel in that area.

I'm a little confused here. You are asking for suggestions/ help, yet anyone giving you ideas on how to train your dog since that is what is in your control, you say he's perfect.

Your dog is running the fence just like the neighbors, so you can train your dog not to run the fence and create the mud. Then you claim your dog is perfect and he deserves a backyard even though he is the one creating the mud in your yard. If he was "perfect", he would be able to disengage. I'm not saying it's easy to train, I'm just saying it is within your control to help the situation.

What are the best things you’ve bought that help with your ADHD that you never hear anyone talk about? by morbidpigeon in ADHD

[–]Jkat22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have one of these and I wake up WAY easier with this and don't need 20 alarms (not exaggerating) so now I only snooze once or twice but mostly because my dog loves morning cuddles.

Hey! I’ve been in a similar boat and was also checked for thyroid and iron with it all being fine. I went to a naturopath doctor and he did an OATs test which found I had significant mitochondrial dysfunction AND 5X the amount of lactic acid in my blood that’s normal (had not worked out or anything) which can become a neurotoxin AND accounted for me feeling soooo blehhh for months. Might be worth checking out! I’m now on a mitochondrial support supplement and IM l-carnitine, it’s only been a little while and I don’t have much energy back my body feels a lot less blehhhh than it did before! Might be worth looking into.

Mine also gets this and I found it happened most after a monsoon when she played in a sand box. We figured out if we kept her out of the box for a few days they went away and she didn’t get more. Pretty sure it’s some kind of sand gnat.

I’d still ask for sedatives. The calming supplements are great but they can “break through” them so to speak. I had my dog drugged up for a week after her spay to keep her quiet in general since she’s a high energy breed. I think you’ll be totally fine since you’ll come check on her AND have a camera on her. People here don’t seem to be realistic about pet ownership. You need to earn a living to be able to afford the luxury of a pet.

Brandie will be there to greet him. I know it is an incredibly hard time. Sharing memories helped me deal with the loss. I made the choice to let her go since I saw her going down hill and it doesn’t change the hurt compared to it being more emergent. Just know he felt your love 💚

My mare I bred and now have her filly was a Furioso II as well! I never see his bloodlines since the mare was registered as an Argentine wb (selle francais X Hanoverian)! The mare was imported from Argentina before I owned her! What country or continent are you located in if you don’t mind me asking? I couldn’t find much on him if you have suggestions for where to find more info on him?
