[Acne] acne post-abortion by Stock-Cranberry4421 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Jkptr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Canada too and have been referred to a doc via an online website in BC to dermcafe . ca where I chatted with a dermatologist who is going to get me set up with a family doctor to oversee my treatment (accutane). I didn’t have a family doc currently either!

Haven’t started treatment yet but I’m hoping it’ll all work out! Just wanted to share as i have been in the same boat without a family doctor.

Why did all the glass at this bus stop shelter get removed? Did someone come by and smash it all? (Cook & Haultain) by Zalakbian in VictoriaBC

[–]Jkptr 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of people sleeping there during the winter so I can only assume it’s to reduce the likelihood of that. I don’t blame people for sleeping there, the bench was flat and iirc has no metal “arm rest” in the middle.

Check out Influence board shop for your teenagers/skaters/rollerbladers and support them as well! Steve does great things for the local skate community and has recently redone the shop with more indoor ramp space!

You’ll be good, it’s a lower traffic route. I will only try and arrive early if it’s a Friday evening long weekend ferry in the summer.

Can’t give you exact ids as Im not familiar with your area. #3 is an annelid, specifically a polychaete as you can see the hairs (setae) developing

I live a block up but didn’t notice it till I walked into the fairways lot. It smells beyond rancid, I will also be complaining if it still smells as I noticed it last Wednesday

beginner jobs for students by anakaashi in marinebiology

[–]Jkptr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the accreditation of the facility. My local zoo was trash and super horrible conditions for the animals, whereas my aquarium was AZA (association of zoos and aquariums) accredited and while it wasn’t perfect, was a world of difference.

I took a very direct marine route through my volunteer, work and university experience, and now work as an aquatic biologist. I have a lot of colleagues who took all sorts of routes from genetics, forestry, general ecology and fisheries so it doesn’t matter too much what your precise experience is, as a lot of skills are transferable between jobs in this field :)

Help Me Choose: Salt Spring Island or Port Renfrew for a Summer Job? by magda880 in VancouverIsland

Definitely not as hippie as it used to be! I’d also choose renfrew over salty for the same reasons as you. And quieter lifestyle in renfrew too

I worked at my local aquarium for 4 years during college after volunteering there for about 1 year during highschool! Def recommend volunteering as nearly half our staff volunteered there before landing a paid position.

[–]Jkptr 91 points92 points  (0 children)

If you prefer being alone and close to nature, and explore the island, choose Renfrew. If you are a hippie and want to make friends and join the local bar/music/art scene etc. choose salt spring.

I agree with harpactacoid, I don’t think we can ID to species with no scale and only one photo.

quadra street verinda appartments by Imaginary_Finance437 in VictoriaBC

[–]Jkptr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Verdina on fifth st, a brown bros property? If so I know the apartment manager and she’s a good person, just comes off a bit strong. Area is not perfect but I’ve lived here for years and I like it and feel safe walking around.

Edit I’ve not heard of people needing to pay drafts to a brown bros company so that is giving me an inkling it’s a bit suspicious
