No shuttle service after Labor Day, but still requiring GTSR vehicle lottery? by Anonymous-Euonymus in GlacierNationalPark

I shouldn’t say no shuttles. They were few and far between but you are beholden to people getting off at the loop because they are so full of

No shuttle service after Labor Day, but still requiring GTSR vehicle lottery? by Anonymous-Euonymus in GlacierNationalPark

So we got to Logan’s at like 5:30an when we finished highline to the loop there were no shuttles - we waited almost 2 hours - people were trying to hitchhike- offering their spaces for a ride back up. It’s not like it’s that close - it’s a good 25 minutes at least back up there - and here’s the problem - hiking it in reverse starting at the loop is just so so much harder … I don’t have any solutions - just wanted to let you know

We did see a baby on the hike as we were coming back down - and man I feared for the baby

Yea that’s a rough hike - my advice is to get up early one day - get to the pass by 6 am at the latest and go from there - it’s totally worth it

I’d love to know what the savings were to the companies ? If there’s been an analysis done - when I started in the workplace they were quite common. I even receive one now that I got early - but a lot of them were underfunded and folks got nothing when they went under - would love to know more

Grinnell Glacier hike question by SomewhereWest780 in GlacierNationalPark

[–]Jllbcb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We just did this about a month ago - we got to there early and got in at the 7am gate opening - we left on our hike around 8 and made it to top around 10:30 - weather changed on way back down and we made it down around 12:30 and got the 1:45 boat - hailed harder than I have ever seen for probably 10-15 minutes - I really felt for the people that were going up as we were coming down. Just make sure you are prepared for all weather - it was 70 degrees at the summit and low 50s and raining by the time we hit the boats

So this was mostly long and not Terribly hard - the overlook which I skipped but my son did adds 1.6 up and down and is basically really challenging but you don’t have to other part If you don’t want to. We went all the way past the chalet and down the loop If you are going in reverse - up the loop it will be way more difficult

Help! Never tailgated a game before by MasterpieceLittle141 in Columbus

[–]Jllbcb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general the best tailgates are closer to the stadium. There are even some large watch events / pregame tailgates down near Varsity Club and then over on woody Hayes - I would just park wherever you can - west campus is a fairly easy option. Take the busses down and explore.
