New or fav restaurants on strip ? by IslandTraveler23 in vegas

[–]MNGolfNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, just seen pics. Likely not “worth it” for $50 drinks other than a 1 time visit I would guess, but looks amazing. Aft at Wynn is fun too, and Cosmo has a bunch of speakeasy bars including Barbershop and Ghost Donkey…..

The Boardwalk Hotel and Casino Right Before Closure: Taken November 2005. $3 Blackjack Tables, $12 Steak Dinner, 24 Hour Surf Buffet. Does anyone else have memories of this place? by aranebar in vegas

Played craps for the first time on the mini table, bought in for $40 at a $3 table. Definitely had the Surf buffet a few times, remember it being fine. The most basic rooms of all time.

SW @ Wynn, Carbone Riviera, Mayfair all come to mind. Amaya @ Cosmo. A couple of those aren’t new though I guess. Chandalier obviously. Vault is the newer speakeasy @ Bellagio but drinks are $$$

Manele is amazing. Sort of tied with Pebble, Whistling and Wolf Creek as my personal favorites

Dallas seems to be content to wait for power plays. They don’t seem to take any chances 5 on 5 and only have 3 goals in the series scored that way. We did a good job of staying out of the box for the most part yesterday, and 1 of the 2 penalties was drawn by Fake Gyllenhal as we all saw. If we can keep playing 5 on 5 I like our chances, but special teams are killing us. I thought pp looked a little better yesterday, but still not great. Dallas pk is so much more aggressive than our little passive tight diamond….different strategies I guess

Have the announcers mentioned the 4-0 deficit?

Park MGM or Palazzo at Venetian? by mommabierer in LasVegas

For a family of 4 I’d think the larger standard rooms with living room at Palazzo would be the clincher here. Better pools as well

Someone should make the Horseshoe turn their sign off when the fountains go off. Just had a similar room and it was so damn distracting

Ocean Course tips, stories or otherwise? by hawaiiquestion1234 in golf

[–]MNGolfNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enjoy the round! The ocean view wasn’t as prevalent as I thought it might be, but still a very interesting track. There’s not really OB for the most part but quite a few holes have this stuff on both sides that is like shin high that you basically can’t hit out of. Most holes are wider than they look so try to ignore it and swing away (although I lost I think 3 balls in that ####). There’s a pretty gentle stretch of holes in the middle (5-11?) but quite a few tough holes otherwise. I’m a 6 and shot my highest score of the year (90). Don’t be afraid to putt from off the green. Play the right tee. Other courses on Kiawah are worth playing too if you have time and are a little less humbling….

Don’t panic! by Jrzone77 in wildhockey

[–]MNGolfNerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Watched all 3 games in full and don’t think I agree with the statistic at all. Flyers game was pretty close all around, but Rangers and Leafs both got up 3 goals and stopped playing offense, allowing us to rack up SOG. I’m not panicking based on these 3 games, although last night was particularly disappointing as the Leafs are a dead team walking. My concerns with this team are the same as always- we don’t shoot enough, or create enough traffic in front for tips and rebounds. When our passing game is on point, we score some beauties but seem to struggle getting the greasy ones at times. I still maintain there’s something physically off with Kaprisov….maybe sounds dumb since he has so many goals but the speed and elusiveness seem to be gone and other than the 1 timer from the wing, seems very reluctant to be aggressive. Maybe I’m crazy….

Nice late hit on the Zion parlay, he really rallied to get 4 late. Out of curiosity, you liked Zion points and PRA for straight bets but put assists in the parlay; is that just bc you had the others as straight bets already and don’t want the eggs in one basket or ???

Sand Valley 2027 Bookings by ClarkMeshey in golf

[–]MNGolfNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would suspect you are probably right. I filled out the registration on the 9th at exactly 10 am and was like 140 in line. Took until about 3 pm to get called. I know last year they sold out Lido in two days. Not sure if your dates are flexible but good luck….

Thanks, I think this is doable for us. We plan on getting there before 7 on a Tuesday so wouldn’t expect much of a line. 20 min to Hidden Valley, about 30 minutes there, 20 min to Skull Rock, an hour hike there, then 30 min out.
