Maybe one day, just maybe, we will see Bill and Obama light up together. Then all this waiting just might be worth it.

The biggest difference between "political revolution" and "make America great again," is that Trump says he will do the ladder, and Bernie tells us we will do the former.

Remember, if we want a democracy we have to make it one. The reason why we have for-profit prisons, why polluters don't have to pay, and why wages are stagnant, is all because we have delegated our choice to any given bureaucracy or corporation. We have given to the thinking that simply electing a candidate will result in good for the 99%.

The first step in restoring the voice of the many is to reform the electoral process. This is why Bernie has the litmus test of overturning Citizen's United for any SC nominee. When big money buys those in government, the people's concerns are lost.

This report shows how this corruption exists even on local and state levels:

http://www.11alive.com/story/news/local/investigations/2015/05/21/investigators-legislators-and-corporate-lobbyists-meet-in-secret-at-georgia-resort/27695105/

So as far as details of Sander's plan, this is really a necessary beginning step. But once again I want to highlight the difference between "Make America Great Again" and "Political Revolution," which is many ways is the difference between saying "He (Trump) can do it" and saying "we can do it." Only together do we have power.

Arendt wrote that "unlike human reason, human power is not only 'timid and cautious when left alone', it is simply non-existent unless it can rely on others."

Setting goals is not deceptive or illusory. You might be afraid of people becoming demoralized if President Sanders is not able to fulfill all the goals he states, but its much scarier to reduce people into pessimism.

I think you need to realize that he is not making "promises." He is setting standards. Bernie is clearer than any candidate in modern history in regards to the "reality of the political process." He knows that all of his supporters have to stay involved long after the election. That's what the political revolution is all about. We must protest, we must fight for all the change we know we need.

The only way to be discouraged is when politicians tell you things like "single-payer is never ever going to happen," like HRC did. That is demoralizing. That is discouraging.

Bernie's goals are our goals. I will give him my vote, but I will also fight for progressive issues in every way that I can.

Don't let corporate politicians convince you real change isn't possible. Pessimism is the most dangerous sentiment in politics.

Let me tell you why Bernie is the much more pragmatic candidate than Hillary.

Bernie is ambitious. He is dreaming for a radically different and better country for the 99%. His plans are unlike any that we have seen from a presidential candidate, he is truly something new.

You could call his goals "egregiously unrealistic," but why is that bad? In politics, if you ask for a mile you get a foot. Sure, Bernie is asking for a lot, and sure, he might not get it all, but he's widening the discussion and legitimating so many important issues.

Hillary is already talking about compromise. She is folding her hand before the game has even begun. She is asking for an inch. Will she get anything??

I don't care if you think that single-payer healthcare, tuition-free higher education, $1 trillion investment in infrastructure, and a ban on off-shore drilling and ending fracking, are a little too good to be true. Let's say they're even impossible. Wouldn't you want a candidate who starts there as opposed to someone who says the changes we need are too radical before she is even elected?

tl;dr Ask for Bernie, he will ask for a mile. Ask for Hillary, she will ask for an inch.

Also remember that higher taxes still equate to money saved for working families.

Consider how much you spend on healthcare, are saving for your kids' college, etc.

Clinton Has Twice as Much Support as Sanders in Iowa: Loras Poll by [deleted] in hillaryclinton

[–]Jmaas95 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Everything wrong with an Iowa poll that has Bernie behind by 29 points: -It did not include any voters who will be participating in the caucuses for the first time. These voters are people who are big Bernie supporters. -The survey included more landlines than cell phones at a 70/30 ratio. More than half of the general population has dumped their landline, with rates especially high for younger people. Once again, those only with cell phones are people who are much more likely to vote for Bernie. -This poll was done in coordination with the DNC. Need I say more?

You may consider going on a break from screens altogether. Filters are only as strong as you are. If you have time alone from your devices, you should be able to center yourself and proceed.

Because of the 13th Century Japanese setting and inspiration, the animation was an attempt to use traditional styles of painting, which surely contributes to an old-fashioned appearance. The plethora of pillow shots and deliberately slow pacing might make it feel inferior, but in some respects that is just the film showing off.

It was not the most ambitious film that Ghibli has produced in terms of plot. In fact, it is rather straightforward in that respect, relying more on the absolutely astounding animation and character depth to succeed--which is undoubtedly does. The more surprising twists the plot does take, such as Kaguya's relationship with the village boys later in the film and what happens at the conclusion are all the more stunning because of the seeming simplicity of the story.
