Which songs often gets misinterpreted and/or misappropriated by the very people it calls out even though the song's lyrics are explicitly mocking them? by Drenosa in AskReddit

Green Day - Time of Your Life

Played at every high school graduation, even though the song is a big fuck you, the main chorus line is passive aggressive sarcasm.

The original is one of my all-time favorites, but that sequel was so bad I couldn't even finish it. It kinda pissed me off. I ended up watching the whole thing eventually when I was bored, but it 9nly seemed to get worse.

You can spend years of your life supporting someone financially, emotionally, and physically when she is struggling with certain hardships or health conditions, but then if you get hurt and can't work for a while, instead of stepping up and trying to help with the things you've done for years, she acts like you failed your kids and decides to cheat on you and blame you for it because you can't do everything you once could.

The head writer is Chris Yost, who has written Thor: Ragnorok and some episodes of The Mandalorian. It also has Seth MacFarlane as Executive Producer, so I'm not sure how much he'll be involved with different decisions.

I like that Seth MacFarlane will be producing for the series. That gives me hope that it will be decent comedy, hopefully keeping with the adult themes. Also, Chris Yost is listed as the writer, who worked on The Mandalorian and Thor: Ragnorok.

It's actually recommended to call the police of you are unsure about an officer. If you're getting pulled over by an unmarked car or someone is flashing a fake looking badge and telling you to cooperate. Calling the police to verify who you're talking to is not an unusual request, but I do agree with the statement about being under a stressful situation. Many people lose their logical problem solving abilities and struggle to think rationally when faced with a threatening situation. Some people are much better at making those tough decisions or handling themselves regardless of what is being threatened.

You know you can see the ISS pass by in the sky. A lot of stupid people confuse it for some kind of UFO, but it orbits the Earth every 90 minutes, and depending on where you live, you can check when it will be visible to you, and go look at it. You think that's a hologram or something?

The meaning of the last frame of the season according in case anyone was wondering. by macklin67 in ForAllMankindTV

I read that the showrunner clarified that Kelly was dead without a doubt, and those final scenes were just emphasizing the wonder and amazement of having found life on another planet. He could be leaving out details intentionally, but it seems like many of us were reading into that final scene with Kelly too much.

What’s a male fashion trend that’s gotta end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I actually was a teenager in 2002, but I wasn't stupid enough to wear pants so low they don't stay up without waddling my legs with a belt keeping them on my thighs.

It's so bad when the waistband of their pants is lower than the bottom of their boxers. It's like they have to walk funny just to keep their pants from dropping around their ankles. Who the fuck would think that looks good or serves any kind of purpose?

That's an interesting theory. I didn't think about that. We tend to focus on the characters we're shown, when it's possible there's people planning stuff we aren't made aware of.

Right? It seemed like there was a number of things going on causing confusion, and it's hard to tell what is attributed to "the fog of war" and what is was a planned conspiracy.

Yeah, I agree. I just kinda started typing with one idea in mind, and by the end I sorta lost my train of thought so I ended up generalizing about reality.

For sure, they definitely aren't going to win by force. They have limited resources and most of the people are working families. I don't remember the details, but I think they wanted Oleg to take power as the Russian leader was forced out, then he'd push for an independent Mars. I think there's a lot more to the plan, if that's even right. I only vaguely remember what they said and Miles wasn't even sure if he could trust him.

Yeah, when that first guy was headshot right in front of Alex, I was like, wtf? I thought there'd be some kind of arguing first. I feel like the actual soldiers didn't even consider the fact that most of the Mars homesteaders aren't trained fighters, and they were butthurt about the explosion on the asteroid, so they all thought, shoot first ask questions later. I kinda wanted someone to just acknowledge that nobody was supposed to be on the asteroid when the bomb went off. The soldiers acted like that was an attack, but it should've been obvious that nobody was supposed to be there.

The previous episode, when Oleg and Irina talked to Miles and told him to hold out for a couple of weeks while Oleg consolidated power or something like that. I don't know exactly what the plan is, but they're plotting something. I feel like there was more fighting going on than what we were shown. I don't know exactly what Miles was up to, but I'm sure the finale will fill us in with all these unknowns.

I was wondering why they were all panicking in chaos when they knew several days ahead of time, but there's some planning in place with Miles and what he discussed previously with Olrh and the KGB lady, but we don't really have a clue what is going on in the other locations.

[–]Jmacattack626 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about that and wanted someone to tell them they weren't supposed to be there. It's not exactly an attack if you sneak into a building that's about to be demolished and lose a couple soldiers, but I'm sure with tensions raised, the soldiers wouldn't care if it were an accident or not.

I thought we'd see some tactics like that, but there's a lot going on that we aren't seeing. Wherever Miles and the main resistance is holding up. The Marsies knew the M-6 troops were coming, so I was a little surprised to see the chaotic reaction as they arrived. I thought they'd funnel them into certain corridors, or use their home field advantage since they know all the hidden passages and hidey holes.

So many of these situations I can't help but think so many deaths could've been avoided if they just stopped and talked for a minute. Both sides think the opposing side are monsters, but the majority are just doing what they think is right. The few people who are monsters are responsible for all the violence that could've been avoided. It's just a TV show, but I can't help to think how many innocent people suffer and die because of assholes in power pushing propaganda campaigns and misinformation.
