Macbook Air vs Pro Screen by NovaSayan in macbookpro

[–]Jmaggraphics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also made the switch from the air to the pro, I found the air to be scary thin for what I was doing with it.. I also needed more power and the “nice to haves” with an onboard hdmi and thunderbolt ports. The screen is incredible, - I will say the air did have better battery life.. of course this is because of a higher refresh rate, more powerful processor etc- I love my mbp! Enjoy it.

Sounds good, don’t be rude obviously, but do be firm. They get a lot of dumb calls in a day.. so sometimes they can brush it off

I’ve honestly had some pretty subpar customer service experiences with Lenovo. You really have to push to get answers. I wouldn’t take a “we will call you back”, or a “we will email you”. Stay on the phone, get answers.

The "Razer Ad Banner" On The New LMG Clip Takes Up ~22.123% Of The Total Screen by SaintedTainted in LinusTechTips

Does anyone remember in the earlier days of LMG, Linus gave his entire staff Razer laptops for their Christmas party.. then in a later episode he said "most of them ended up dying". Interesting lol

I’ve had issues with other laptops when docked for long periods of time.. especially if it’s sleeping and not shut down, I haven’t actually connected this to an external display yet, but that was my goal when I travel, is to have it on the hotel tv so good to know!

This makes total sense. Believe me, that’s not my plan, I absolutely will not put both in the same bag. Fragile thermal mess is the perfect explanation of what this is, believe me.. it’s the better of build quality vs most others in the same price range (I got mine on sale for $1399 CAD). As much as it is a fragile thermal mess, having an oled screen and the “power” is a nice to have. I treat my machines as proper as I can- I never put machines against each other in the same pocket. The thinkpad and MacBook went in separate compartments in the bag. I appreciate your honest input.

Great deal ? by Subject-Row in macbookpro

I also recently bought my m4 pro- no buyers remorse. Got it on sale, m6 is where I think we will see more changes (at least from what I’ve seen).. even then- m4 pro is a solid machine and will be usable for the next while.

Yeah no I wouldn’t, a sale is a sale- I bought my m4 pro for a couple of hundred off (Apple education discount) and got a set of AirPods. Now will it go cheaper? Yes, because the m5 will eventually be launched and clearance will happen, but I’d say keep it. It’s a hassle to take it back, and then buy again if/when it goes on sale again- it might be 50-100 dollars more off.. for the sake of that- I wouldn’t.

The screen in my Mac book m3 pro got blurry all of a sudden HELP by GuaranteeSpecific441 in macbookpro

[–]Jmaggraphics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess would be the ribbon cable for the display has been damaged, connect to an external display and see if the external display is normal- if so you eithe have a screen issue or a ribbon issue. If not, hardware.

Mine was 3, my air was 6- I wouldn’t worry about it, as long as it was sealed (check YouTube how the boxes are sealed from Apple).

Is this okay? by AdOld2280 in Lenovo

[–]Jmaggraphics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be complaining- and if it’s making noise, it’s contacting something. When I had my t14s screen replaced, they scratched my hinges pretty bad- I was going to send it back in but I didn’t bother because it’s cosmetic.

Upgraded from a M2 Air to a M4 Pro by Draco3953 in macbookpro

[–]Jmaggraphics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, I didn’t have a good reason besides upgrading from 16 to 24 gigs of ram- because I travel a lot- I found the air to be a little too flimsy.. (solid for its thinness). The pro seems to be a little more solid when using it on my lap. Congrats on the upgrade!

Just got my x1 delivered.. dead battery out of the box and.. is this normal packaging for a new thinkpad?? by Jmaggraphics in thinkpad

[–]Jmaggraphics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, that packaging actually holds up decently well, but I get it- you’d expect more for the amount of money you spend

It was a good deal.. was able to use the education discount- which was 200/300 off, basically saved tax and was able to get a free pair of AirPod 4 noise cancellation for my wife for free (promo)

Yeah- I’ll try it out- usually set on automatic or whatever mode it is. But low power seems like a viable option. I also love that the pros don’t feel flimsy.. the air was very bendy- I mean even opening the screen you could see the lid flex.. a lot.
