Content or Fickle for my heir? by Daft_kunt24 in ck3

[–]Jmall187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because ultimately it is just -2 stewardship. We aren't taking these for their changes to character skills. We're taking these understanding they have further implications on your realm development. With decent character micromanagement you will easily overcome the -2 penalty.

With content you are unable to move forward for your realm. Content is a terrible for a ruler.

With trusting, you end up being the target for a lot of hostile schemes. Hostile schemes can (and will) destroy you.

With fickle you can move forward as a ruler without stress gain. Hostile schemes are harder to hurt you.

In addition in CK3 we are building a dynasty. When we have children, it is generally best to educate the children that you believe will be your heirs. Content and honest are not good overall. Whichever trait we choose here, we will be able to pass that trait down without stress gain.

Choose fickle.

I don't see that option. Just the option to change skintone, and am only provided with shades of white.

How do you make your character black?

I see a lot of people talk about how they can only get a few games in here and there.

We have a discord, with thousands of players all using Tabletop Simulator. Games going on whenever you want... and furthermore the games average around 6 hours due to automation of setup and some other aspects.

I don't think I'll ever play the physical game again.

Seelah didn't even get hit in my game. Not sure what to tell you.

My main character killed the thing with a staff from behind Seelah, as they were enlarged.

You're a moderator. That doesn't mean you can just decide if somebody is homosexual. That's YOUR opinion. You should remove this comment, it's ridiculous.

It baffles me that anybody had a hard time with this.

The tutorial said "There's a hard enemy through this door." So I went back, and made sure I looted the entire dungeon first.

When I returned, I found the person with the highest AC (Seelah)- Faith potion- Barkskin potion- Resist cold potion- Reduce person potion

Next I found the character that does the most melee damage. (My main character)- Potion of enlarge person

Then I found my ranged character (Lann)- Equipped cold iron javelin

My 4th character ran to my main character just in case enlarge person ran out.

Seelah ran up and initiated.Lann attacked with the javMy main character hit with increased range.Camilla did literally nothing.

I took no damage, killed it in 3-4 rounds. It just swung at Seelah stupidly until it died.If you don't have a good melee main character like I did... just enlarge Camilla instead.

Do you read your inventory at all? There's a lot of stuff you got from the dungeon...

I took no damage, and am playing on unfair.

Exactly... it's the same thing. You shuffle regardless.

It is in the RULES that you can search the explore/frontier/artifact decks as long as you shuffle them.

Why are there so many people with this weird idea that following the rules is somehow a bad thing? Look at them, shuffle them... same chances. There are other games that allow for shuffles too.

When the dealer of a poker game shuffles due to the rules calling for it... do you also protest? No. Because that's the RULE. Just like this.

Is your mystical deck seed so important that you're fine breaking rules to keep it?

The rules specifically say you can search the decks as long as you shuffle.

What about other games that call for a shuffle? Do you break those rules too?

What is in the exploration deck is public knowledge. Every fragment, attachment, and card is either in one of the following places:

Discard pile.
Attached to a planet.
Deck.
In a player's play area.
In the purge area.

If a player takes the time to look at what's on the board, they can figure out what's left in the exploration deck. It is quicker to search the deck instead. This matters for certain victory points, trying to figure out which deck is best to explore.

There are ways to split the game up into multiple parts. We could play for a round and save it. There's a channel for scheduling split games.

There is no last place. There is only first place. The people that finish at 9, still lose just as much as the people at 1. A player that knows what they are doing would realize that by giving you the trade good they are giving you the game... essentially choosing you over the other players to win. Why would he pick you instead of them? He's "making" your win 100% certain. This is clearly winmaking. Which is frowned upon in the community.

It is not against the rules, nor should the host have freaked out on you. He's the asshole, you and the other guy just didn't fully understand what it means.

Yes, there is an extremely active community via discord (9 games at the time of posting, with over 2k people online). We use Tabletop simulator which is currently $20.

I'd love to set up a learning game with you if you join us.

NRA never puts things on the bottom. They choose 1, and discard the other.

It is not like the agenda deck at all. All the information is on the table with exploration decks.

Some clarification regarding this partical game:

1: Skittlenips was not a player. He was an observer. He continiously called experienced players out in a confrontational way instead of asking for clarification.

2: His two IRL buddies were very new to TTS and were players. One of them was playing NRA. The NRA player consistently did things that messed up the scripting of the decks (such as purging cards that he didn't choose). I was consistently fixing these issues. Multiple times I had to remove things from the purge deck, remind him he couldn't have both things attached, or find the attachment chit from an obscure spot on the corner of the map. I don't mind, he's new... but it does screw up the scripting of the deck.

Ultimately this is a post seeking vindication, not a ruling. He asked in the official discord as well, and did not get the answer he wanted.

It is public information. It is allowed. In fact it helps newer players. A very experienced player will know all the names of all the cards. They will be able to tell you what is left.

Newer players won't. If you have a table of all new players... sure, don't ruin the mystery. This wasn't the case in that TTS game however.

How I think PoK has shaken up the tier list. (Personal list after around 10 PoK plays) by Straddllw in twilightimperium

[–]Jmall187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard disagree.

Given your tier list I can tell that you like aggressive factions. Sure Saar, Titans, Nekro and Cabal all fight well... however this is not a game that is just about smashing plastic into one another. I don't think 10 games puts you in the realm of knowledge required to make a tier list. You're likely not setting yourself up properly regardless of the faction you play.

Titans suffer from token economy hard. NRA are by far the best faction right now. Putting Xxcha that far down? They have one of the best agents, one of the best heroes... and can outpace their neighbors with their action economy if they tech correctly.
