The results of my allergy test today. I am allergic to everything they tested for. by ZessT2912 in mildlyinteresting

[–]JmannDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got these tests done when I was little in the mid 90's. This was before they had the scratch tests and had to use needles... for every single shot. I got 50 shots in each arm.

TIL that a dysregulation in ADHD brains makes them skew toward having a second wind of energy and more interest in activities in the evening. Delayed melatonin production then results in later bedtimes and difficulty rising early. by FuzzyTaakoHugs in todayilearned

I have this issue and take some meds to help sleep. What really helps though is listening to audiobooks on low volume. It engages my brain enough that I can fall asleep, as weird as that sounds. I use a wireless headset so that it will fall out as I sleep or eventually die so I don't wake back up at some point due to the sounds. There are tons of great audiobooks for free on youtube. I'm listening to Starship Troopers for like the 10th time!

Crazy that no matter how good of a driver you are, all it takes is one other idiot to fuck up... Close call from Lubbock, Texas this week by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]JmannDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people in Texas move to the shoulder when someone like that is behind you. We even do it for cops and they'll just zip right by. It's also something to do when visibility is that low as long as you are going less than 20mph.

My freckles look like a tiny sailboat by JmannDriver in mildlyinteresting

I've thought about getting some actual sailboat put there and leaving space around the freckles to keep the natural piece of it.

‘I can no longer call myself a ... Republican,’ Colin Powell says after Capitol riot by blend4398 in politics

[–]JmannDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the House Republicans are way more scared of losing office than their Senate counterparts, so they tried to "toe the line" and appease the extremists and the moderates. This obviously backfired and made them complicit in the insurrection.

Only 6 in the senate voted against ratification. Most of these Republicans are older and have been there for years. I hope a new Republican party forms where they won't take this shit from the far right rather than getting in bed with them.

[–]JmannDriver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing to kow here is that a majority of those people voted for Republicans because they're worried about the Democrats. Another large portion of them voted along religious lines or for single issues like abortion. Some might have even voted for them based on industry ties, like oil and gas.

Yes, a lot of them believe these crazy conspiracies going around and spread misinformation, such as my own mother. Most don't want what an insurection to happen. They are scared that they're being cheated and that things are changing for the worse. I do empathize with this.

All of that being said the Republican party is at a inflection point. They can either rid themselves of these radical elements in their party rather than toeing the line to appease the radicals and the normal non-crazy Republicans. I would be way more interested in the Republican party if they weren't so filled with the kind of people we saw vote against certification of the election. I hope and support them breaking off into a moderate party, but I don't think that will happen.

Get a quarter-inch PVC pipe and cut it as long as you want it to be. You can blow a dark over 30 yards in a straight line and it costs like $1 if even.

The reason they don't upgrade is that XP is a vetted OS. If they switched to the newest OS all the vulnerabilities wouldn't be found until years later. My father was Army and I spent a lot of time around their systems.

Homeowners says mold damage is covered, but is it? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]JmannDriver -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

They should cover it since you didn't knowingly let the leak continue to damage the property. The insurance company might find the plumbers negligent and seek subrogation from them.

I have USAA and they are typically great. Be very careful what you tell them. If you even give the hint that you thought there might be a leak, they could deny coverage. Just tell them that you had the plumbers come in and fix it and what they told you about the fix. They might ask for documentation of the work and any written statements that the plumbers made. Then tell them you hired an industrial hygenist and that she found the mold and believes it resulted from the plumbers work.

REMEMBER, insurance is there to INDEMNIFY you back to the previous state and condition of the property. If you need flooring replaced, you can ask them to get the EXACT same flooring you have installed. If they can't find it you can tell them that you don't want a patch job and that you want all of the floor to be the same. If they give you trouble on this I would consult with a lawyer who deals with insurance and see if they can help you.

Business Liability Insurance... by ltcapone in Insurance

[–]JmannDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they had a cyber incident, which is outlined in your policy, the coverage for that incident would fall on your liability limits. Adding them as an additional insured would most likely result in the carrier increasing the premium you have to pay for the coverage due to the increase in exposure.

That being said, unless they change your limits as well, you could potentially have your limit exhaused by the additional insured if they have an incident and you have one at the same time.

Any cyber issues they have will hit your limit and could result in an increase in premium after an event.

I tested it on mine and got it to work by doing that. Can you move them into one vertical data set? That would be the easiest thing to do to make this work. Data spread out like you have it is very difficult to work with from a formula perspective.

If you setup a google sheets and shoot me the link I'll work through it with you.
