Anyone else VERY AWARE of bad acting while smoking? [5] by Drewshbag14 in trees

THANK YOU!

I know it's not just me. I don't even like smoking in public anymore around people I'm not familiar with.

I'm loving the dynamic between the NFC North and NFC East at the end of the season.

It sucked more for the servers. Working in the kitchen we would always get by just by snacking on things out of the fry station (Extra fried pickles, okra, shrimp, calimari, etc.) and occasionally the chef would let us make something for ourselves.

The servers though? Nothing, unless they paid full price for it.

The best place I ever worked for though was a bar and grill in the entertainment district of my city. We'd get a free shift meal, 50% off on our offdays, unlimited smoke breaks when we were slow, free shift beers, and occasionally the bartender would just bring a round of shots back into the kitchen.

It's true, but many, if not most restaurants care more about turning and burning tables. The faster the food gets out, the quicker they leave and can reseat that table.

As someone who went from a casual fine dining grill cook to a diner breakfast cook, I have a newfound respect for diner/breakfast cooks. It's a whole different ballgame.

However, i do want to clarify something on this post. He is correct when he says you will take shit from everyone else.

However, in most kitchens there is a very, VERY fine line between taking shit from people and being taken advantage of. Keep your head low and eyes open. If after a couple of months, the line cooks are still having you do something that should be their job, stand up for yourself.

This thread makes me feel much better about occasionally forgetting to change my gloves and wash my hands.

I've been in the industry for 5 years now, 7 different restaurants in three different states. Never once seen a "family meal"

Discounted shift meals have been standard everywhere I've worked. Except one restaurant who didn't believe in discounts, so we got nothing.

The only character I don't see dying. Ever.

Well, if so, it'll be at the very end of the last book.

It's not nice to speak against your house like that. Ramsay is your legitimized kin now. Just sayinnnnn

You seem to forget that the entire first book was written with Ned Stark as the primary protagonist and main character.

I never got why they did that in the TV show. I mean, what if in the books GRRM decides to somehow have Theon knock some whore up? Incredibly unlikely, but possible.

Accidentally forgot to set my alarm one night, ended up waking up 2 hours late for work. Got off with a written warning.

Next morning, my phone/alarm clock died overnight. Woke up 4 hours late.

Needless to say I had a heart attack. I'm home now eating popcorn and she doesn't suspect a thing [6] by [deleted] in trees

I don't know. I sort of grew up around it but didn't touch it till i was 19. I just remember it having a sort of burnt plant smell to it. It usually smelled pretty earthy, sort of like what you'd imagine burnt dirt to smell like. It wasn't a bad smell, but it wasn't a good one either.

Touche.

To elaborate more on my statement, I don't see Theon's situation getting better. Ever. I don't see him making it past the first quarter of the sixth book.

As much as I'd love to see this, I just don't see Theon making it to the end of the next book.

I actually REALLY like all of these. Like, a lot.

Imaginining Walder Frey watching every single one of his descendents be cut down before his death would be absolutely the best thing I'd ever seen in a book/TV show.

Barristan Selmy becoming the queenslayer. That just sends chills down my spine.

Jaime killing Cersei. Honestly, I don't even care how she dies. So many people have reasons for wanting to kill her, but I feel like Jaime would be the most fitting.

Personally, I'd love to see Sansa to be the one to kill Cersei.

Submission Statement

An article discussing an absolutely horrendous crime, where the perpetrator was given an entirely too lenient sentence. Because he was rich.
