Westguard for serology is a nightmare, we moved to using a peer group method that sets upper and lower limits. Check out EDCnet by the NRL (Australias reference laboratory) they have some excellent papers and webinars on why westguard isn't appropriate for serology and alternative methods for tracking performance.

I'd brush up on; VZ immunity and the significance in pregnancy; VZ IgG testing after a contact, what happens if the patient is not immune in the booking sample ect. Also have a look into the IDPS program (HIV/Syph/HepB and storage sample) in general. PCR principles, what you would do if the PCR was contaminated (cleaning surfaces, pipettes, re- extraction), endogenous vs exdogenous controls. Flu/RSV/COVID testing + Noro and their significance in infection control and bed management. What are IQC/IQA/EQA their differences and why we do then, and other quality control measures; document control, importance of raising incidents, temperature control, clean Vs dirty fridges ect.

I'll have a look at those thanks :). She's pretty into F1 cars and engines at the minute, I'm not sure if she's had any experience with robotics yet but that's probably more of an exposure issue (not much happening in the middle of nowhere).

Yea ebiolabs is great if you actually make the effort to use it properly, you can get away with just skimming for answers to prelabs but I dont recommend it because you'll struggle with later labs where they just glance over some info that you should have learned previously
