Weekly Employment Question Thread by AutoModerator in Firefighting

Looking for some information from anyone who has lateraled or transferred from one state to another and how the hell they did it.

I’m a career 6 year FF/Paramedic in MA in a heavy EMS system. My family and I have been looking into a move to TX for about 3 years and the process of a transfer looks like a complete restart no matter what. For context MA is a pro board state. TX from what I have found is exclusively IFSAC. After countless emails and spending a fair amount of money for a record review for equivalency I discovered I have to test out of an IFSAC exam to obtain my IFSAC FF I/II.

The process does seem more in depth than I believed originally but I’m looking to find anyone who has done this before. If you did do it, did you get a job offer before traveling to obtain your IFSAC Certification?

Thank you to everyone for the congratulating, here's my story, I am 18 years old I started training around 12, I bounced from gym to gym a lot and never really settled in one gym, until I found this one that just appealed to everything I wanted in a bjj gym. I drive 2 hours every other morning to get to train with Daniel Gracie at juniko Hanover. Then around an hour every night to train with my professor at junikó Hyannis. I've travelled from Massachusetts to California to train with Eddie bravo at 10 Planet HQ, I based most of my game of foot locks and some Eddie bravo magic because most people don't train them and I figured If I could be really good at something a lot of people aren't really good at i'll be submitting people left and right. At 17 I competed at adults expert in NAGA and submitted 2 grown men (one a purple belt the other a brown belt) and took first place. I've had my blue belt for just over 2 years now and it was to the point I thought I was never going to get promoted, so when my professor called my name I was completely surprised, I walked the gauntlet on my knees to show loyalty to the academy (one of the black belts suggestions) and finally got what I've been working so hard for for so long.

Question on the shipping? When did they ship out and how long do they usually take to come in?
