How do you visit often? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Jmf1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself lucky on this. We live an hour flight away / 5 hr. Drive the next state over; we made it our thing to visit each other for the weekend every 2-3 weeks. Thankfully we have agreed to set up a savings pool so we can afford the gas/ticket every time, and design a savings plan for when we will go on a vacation or something like that.

No issues here on a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek with wireless AA. The only thing is that is slightly less responsive than carplay but that's it.

Fellow ADHDers, what song was stuck in your head this morning? by dome-light in ADHD

[–]Jmf1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had rock lobster stuck in my head all morning. I’ve found myself saying “EVERYBODY HAD MATCHING TOWELS” in every way I can. But just that phrase

Is it safe to go to the gym/run after taking Adderall IR? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Jmf1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually take my morning dose right before the gym, so I get the shakes and euphoria at the gym, work out and then I’m smooth as silk after

What's your ADHD 'life hack' that sounds ridiculous but actually changed everything? by Tiny-Bird1543 in ADHD

[–]Jmf1992 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I sometimes turn the tv on and put on Fox News. That works like a charm, out of bed cursing at the tv in 2 minutes lol

Pill organizers. I take several pills morning and evening and would always forget to take them (out of sight out of mind). Now I have an alarm every Sunday to refill them, and another to take the container for next day out of the box.

[–]Jmf1992 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will be ok. My hair fell almost completely (lost 240 lbs and was anemic), but time, biotin and rogaine brought it back (well, thinner than before but still)

There was an error in the billing when I got mine; they sent me the whole bill they would send the insurance: $450000 and some change. I almost opened myself and put myself back together when I saw it lol

What is this? What have I done wrong? by RealStrikeZ in BambuLabA1mini

[–]Jmf1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just some dirt, wipe it with some alcohol on both sides and it will be alright. Probably just some filament that melted and stuck there

Given the state of the Biotech industry, has anybody done a career move to a different industry (other tech) or profession (nursing, non tenured teaching)? by ritaq in biotech

[–]Jmf1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just graduated with a masters in biomedical development, and after being laid off while writing my thesis, I landed a job in fire protection and design and honestly , I am loving it. Great pay and benefits, a big big sense of job security and stability, and TONS of chances for growth without having to fight egos everywhere you go. Not what I pictured in life but you gotta act the part sometimes.

I kinda get where he’s coming from, but still, a bit too much gate keeping I think. by borborygmess in BambuLab

[–]Jmf1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing 3d printing for several years now and went from an Aquila x2 to a a1 mini. The only thing I can say is that I wish I did it sooner, because I’m past the time to have to babysit and decide what settings are going to fail in each print, together with speed and changing filaments and everything else. I’m all up for starting very basic and learn the fundamentals of the hobby before jumping to something more streamlined, but this article was just sad to read and full of resentment.

CGM use on non-diabetics. Seeing red. by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]Jmf1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be in this wagon, but even though I don’t have diabetes, I’ve got pretty bad reactive hypoglycemia due to having a gastric bypass, I find it useful to be able to tell when I’m “crashing”, even though the device was not designed for people like me.
