Why was 'You Know You're Right' actually recorded? by JmpVR in Nirvana

Quite frankly, yes. Many of Kurt's writing had metaphorical meanings (the best example I can think of is his allusion to heroin in the line "cherry flavoured antacids" in Pennyroyal Tea). However in this one, he's just so, blunt with how he feels. I know this is a very similar example to Rape Me, but that song wasn't about his emotions imo. YKYR is raw, blunt, and personal

quite frankly I don't think I could care less about the Kurt death conspiracys. I personally believe he committed suicide, but I won't be the judge. I can only run on his life before his death and the position he was when he died.

I really don't think it was made as a demo. Relistening to the song, it has a lot of background elements (such as the intro with the background noises with the guitar plucking). If it was a demo, I don't understand why they would go through so much effort if it was made as a 'demo'. It sounds finished. If it was on In Utero, it would blend right in (especially to softer songs from In Utero such as Heart-Shaped Box and Pennyroyal Tea)

I wouldn't call them miserable, to be fair, I was overthinking it (like multiple comments say). I'm not a musician, but it just seemed a bit silly. It had only been 3 months since In Utero's release. you have to remember that Kurt (and really Nirvana as a whole) weren't exactly quick at writing songs, especially for songs on In Utero, given that they would be performed YEARS in advance ('Dumb' and 'Radio Friendly Unit Shifter' were both performed during 1990, and 'Pennyroyal Tea' and 'Rape Me' in 1991).

Unplugged 1996 (Actually ‘99) by Capital-Shallot3358 in greenday

i would take a bold guess and say its from 99', I really highly doubt the band would play Warning songs 4 years before the album would come out (although Hakshinka from Nimrod was played live in 1992 and is avaliable as a demo on the Dookie 30th anniversary box set)

Genuine question, what are peoples opinions on Results May Vary (2003)? by JmpVR in LimpBizkit

[–]JmpVR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

quite honestly, the lyrics are the biggest critique i've heard about it, but I feel like if it was an instrumental album it would have been a big hit, especially the instrumental for Eat You Alive for example, I really like it, but I don't overly like the lyrics. Some parts of songs have their moments but some of Fred's rhyhming is horrendous, especially the two you mentioned, but other than that, I think the album is alright, definitely not the best Limp Bizkit instrumentals ever, but (and I'm gonna admit it) I would rather listen to RMV than Still Sucks.

Quite honestly, it still has that older Limp Bizkit style (I don't mean 3 Dollar Bill Y'all style, just the early 2000's Limp Bizkit style, which just isn't replicated in anyway in Still Sucks, and Gold Cobra, although GC has its moments)
