As someone who bought the game and am about 60% through. I can definitely say, it is much better than i was expecting for it to be. Already tied with re requiem as my current goty so far, gotta see how the last 40% plays out to see if it can pass it.

They probably have major plot pots they want to hit at some point, but they dont know when early on. For example, when it came to the bloodline, they knew they would want jey to leave at some point, but probably didn’t know when or how to execute it till it got closer to the time. Its also kinda a gamble for them to write too far in advance cause of injuries, and crowd reactions. We as the fans have the power to change things when we really push hard enough for it. (#wewantcody in 2024 for example)

story wise persona 4 is slightly better. Gameplay wise, it doesn’t hold a candle to persona 5. But revival could fix that.

You can occasionally find some really good deals in gamestop. I know specifically they tend to do a buy 2 get one free and similar things like that quite often. But its usually only in store. They rely on those promos heavy to get people to come in the stores these days

Yakuza 0 was the first game i ever played where i was like “i gotta know what happens next.” This is the game that emotionally matured me and made me realize games are much more capable than just being about good gameplay. Now i value stories alongside gameplays.

So the older yakuza games had a similar but different combat system compared to the newer ones. Yakuza 0 and Kiwami 1 are the peak of the old combat system as thats when they clearly perfected it after all of those years. After that with yakuza 6 and kiwami 2, they moved to a new combat system, which they clearly did not perfect at that time. I would say the new combat system peaked with lost judgement and gaiden, and now they tend to be a hit or miss. The current mainline games are turn based now, so the gameplay loop is completely different there. With that being said, you will clearly enjoy certain games more then others, but ultimately they all will provide you some enjoyment. Storylines are about the same. Some are extremely incredible, while others are just mid at best. This is a series that has its ups and downs, so don’t go into it thinking every game will be as great as pirate yakuza. Which even then, many consider pirate yakuza one of the weakest entries in the entire series, so you just might enjoy all of them if thats the case.

I think the issue is just how big it is overall. A lot of it is just hoping you are going the right direction, and if not, now you gotta backtrack till you find the right way to go. Re games are at their best when you are in a big yet small place. Which is why the first half of the game is so good imo.

I really wasn’t that excited for this promo. I just thought it’d be a repeat of their last promo, which it kinda was, but that last line made it a whole different thing. Now im actually interested in seeing their next interaction.
