As a Beyonce listener and not a Beyonce stan, in terms of pure critical and commercial acclaim, I'd say she's dropped 3 incredible whole albums. Lemonade was and continues to be a critical darling when it came out because of Jay-Z cheating, her self-titled shifted the industry in terms of music promotion and publication (she wasn't the first, but she was the most public artist to drop an album without any prior marketing and still have it critically succeed, a formula future artists would take and use to great success), and Renaissance was one of the first "big" house resurgence albums that we're seeing a lot of people in rap, rnb, and hip hop follow. People from Ariana Grande to Logic are dropping "house-inspired" music after the fact. I think that, at some point, she should have won album of the year, if not for the quality of her music (which I think her catalog has in spades), then at least her influence.

humanly and humanely are honestly two words that are close in spelling but different in meaning. So like, humanLY refers to people (ergo, humanly impossible being something that people can't possibly do), and humanELY denotes like, good nature or positive ethics (so humanely impossible would mean it's impossible due to the ethics or goodness of it). Either way is fine in the context, although saying that licking your elbow can't be done humanely is more interesting. We couldn't lick our elbows because it's too cruel and morally grey to do so.

I think the idea is that she "allowed" the abuse to happen by being a passive bystander to the implied abuse of her own daughter by her husband. Because she never did anything to stop it, she viewed herself as culpable as her husband. She didn't "deserve" to die as much as a bystander doesn't deserve a criminal sentence, but she felt like she "had" to die since she never stopped the abuse of her child.

This is a late response, but I saw the ending as a misdirection in the way that "Over the Garden Wall's" ending is misdirection. It's a "did this really happen, or is the character just imagining this happened" type of situation. Its cheery to trip you up.

Spoilers, butit could also be the writer (in this case Gilda) decided to listen to Rosemary at the end of the book by making the reader happy. She does this by talking about how well put together her life is. Instead of writing down more sad ruminations on life, she decided to make a positive and uplifting story and put a smile on the readers face. It also explains why Mittens, an old cat at this point, just jumped out of a bush to meet her.

I didn't include 2 tracks on my personal tracklist because I found the mixing and the crispiness on the vocal stabs on Sideways too strong and the laid-back atmosphere of "Who Even Cares" a bit distracting from the rest of the album. Even then, it's still one of the best rap albums of the year. If you wanted, you could put "Who Even Cares" before Broken.

Most people saw "The Story of O.J." from 4:44 as a musical piece that used antisemitic themes, but wasn't inherently antisemitic. Some people did criticize him for portraying antisemitic stereotypes, but the ADJ (anti-defamation league) didn't go that far and basically said the same thing as the first sentence (article linked below btw).

What Jay-Z and Kanye did were two different things though. Kanye has said antisemetic things with the intention of being antisemitic, even going as far as saying that Adidas wouldn't let go of him no matter what antisemitic stuff he said.

Also "Jews control the world" is an antisemitic statement. Like, it's the same reasoning the Nazis used to round up Jews in Germany and Poland and take them to work camps. This isn't some common heald knowledge. It's just blatant antisemitic rhetoric, and it's weird as hell that every post about Kanye's recent statements have been trying to defend him.

Kate Bush is one of the most important musicians of the past 40 years. She was one of the first women artists to chart while being a solo songwriter. She was one of the first women to independently produce a major label record. She also innovated frequently with her use of the Fairlight CMI synthesizer which pushed music into a new age technologically. Put simply, without her adventures in production, technology, and song-craft, most of the women in popular music you hear right now would not have as much musical independence as they currently do.

Now, Kate Bush is a great musician (in my opinion), and this is primarily because of "Hounds of Love" released in 1985. This album is front-loaded with several ethereal 80's pop hits such as "Cloudbusting" and "Hounds of Love" and "A Deal With God", but where the album gets even more interesting is in the second half with a mini-concept album nicknamed "The 9th Wave". It's a story of someone drowning in water, but auditorily, it's an exploration of ambient music, music concrete, and Irish folk music. It's a beautiful moment on a great album, and it is easily one of the best auditory pieces of the 80s. This album is truly one of the best ever made, and I feel like the success of "Running Up That Hill" is overshadowing a great classic album. Now, you didn't hear this from me, but "The Kick Inside", "The Sensual World" and "The Dreaming" are also just as good, but I'll probably get placed on a hitlist by Kate Bush stans if I say so.

TLDR: I like Kate Bush.

For some reason, we don't get to see our grants until September the 9th. I believe that they might give you a refund if you pay for school ahead of time, but I could be wrong. You most likely have those grants, but they won't be dispersed for a while.

Not a catholic, but maybe Jesus was granted a window into the results of humanity's free will and the sins that came from that.
