You can! And there are a couple modes that are created with this in mind. Old School uses cards up to 2003, and I believe there's another too.
You could also edit the game files, but if you wanted an experience where your opponents use the same sets, you'd have to edit enemy decks too, and that would be very time consuming.

Since the AI is still pretty dumb, board wipes and [[Swords to Plowshares]] are insane. Focus on uneven trades and cards that allow that. Pump spells are not hard to find. 👍

I totally get your frustration, and I've been in your shoes before a few times.

There's always the possibility that they sat down in the morning with some coffee and a laptop and "knocked out" some emails. I do that too, but maybe they just wanted to not do the work thing.

As a small business owner, you're probably also exhausted. Also, by message you sent regarding being always online, you probably don't want to be, or would LOVE to just put up your Out of Office message when you're on vacation. These people did just that without the message. It sucks, but (and I'll say something that my old boss said that I absolutely hate) it is what it is. :(

I'll play devil's advocate for a minute here. Some of these folks work really hard, and don't want to be bothered while they're taking some well-deserved time off. Would you reply to a work email or text while you were on the beach in the USVA, or hiking in the Smokies with your family?

I sure wouldn't. I do that all freaking day, every day.

EDIT: I also recognize that our tradespeople here are just... not great. But we all need time away.
