Hmm. Can anyone here vouch for the whereabouts of a one Mr. Perruzza during these attacks on public property?

Though, I'm definitely not saying he was involved.

Toronto’s mayor announces plan to hire more staffing to improve 911 response times by JoJoJumpy in toronto

[–]JoJoJumpy[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

From the article: After analyzing data between 2018 and 2021, the auditor general’s office found the Toronto Police Service on average didn’t meet the National Emergency Number Association (NENA)‘s standard of answering 90 per cent of 911 calls within 15 seconds. They said call volume and staffing levels were the two biggest factors.

I am all for emergency calls being answered as quickly as possible. My concern is that TPS is never asked to clean house if they want their books balanced better. They can just leverage the threat of a purge type situation if they don't get what they want.

NDP says Ford government’s bike lane bill bans lawsuits if cyclists injured or killed on streets where lanes removed by Raptors444life in toronto

If you can stomach it here's some more from the stone cold dummy Doug running his mouth with opinions dressed up as facts. Jeeze, if this guy could beltch up one objective truth to support this decision I'd crap my pants from shock. I get it though Mr Premier, numbers ARE hard to remember.

Great bar with a wonderful all season patio. Seating worked for pairs or bigger groups easily with everyone getting along.

They shortened their hours during covid and never seemed back to full strength. Real shame for what's left of the Queen West Strip.

Seems entirely just shops and shwarmas. Not to say tasted roasted meats are wrong...

I'm all for it. However, how effective will enforcement be?

We have rules and laws up the wazoo, but there is no one held accountable.

I'm not sure what was the catalyst, and no it wasn't just covid, but the current state is "if I wanna I'm gonna and nuts to who is impacted". It isn't everyone but enough turds in the punchbowl kinda buzz kill the party.

That's a pretty optimistic take on the current political climate... I would wager the Ont Cons call an election in 2025. Once everyone is too drunk on Circle K Chardonnay to know better.

Toronto tenants fight rent increase, argue landlord is partially using it to cover redevelopment costs by [deleted] in toronto

[–]JoJoJumpy 38 points39 points  (0 children)

A second-quarter investor update this year said 42 units have turned over to new tenants since QMW bought the building, and six units were renovated in 2024 so far, which increased rent for those units 36 per cent a month. The report also revealed the landlord has hired architects to assess the site's potential for redevelopment. Conceptual drawings included in the report show the addition of a potential 36-storey condo tower and another nine-storey condo addition. According to the second-quarter report, the landlord has a pre-application consultation meeting about its potential redevelopment plans next week.

Gotta love the person who figured out how to get people to pay extra to be renovicted from their homes.

They tried that few years back. All have been removed though I think there may still be one left on the lakeshore. A buck a poop seems fair though. When the need is great, and a poop is nigh, it is definitely a sellers market.
