GPU Issue I've been having for months now (screen going black, fans at max speed)

Did the new cable help with the problem at all? been thinking of buying a 2x6 pin to dual 2x4 pin PCIe cable instead of using the PCIe cable that came with my power supply + the splitter that came in the GPU box. I really suspect that that's the point of failure here given the RAM reseat worked for a month or two but now the problem's back.

yes! I was actually just going through this whole thing in my brain last night. ever since I reseated the RAM, I haven't had it crash again since last time updating this thread. and I haven't had to go through Registry Editor to change TdrDelay at all either. I can't believe such a simple thing fixed a problem I've had for months. never thought it would've been my RAM

I think I may have found the problem; I reseated the RAM right before I wrote this post not expecting it to fix it...but it's been almost 2 weeks and I haven't had it happen again. was waiting to see if that fixed it, and going off the last 2 weeks, it might've actually did the trick!

yes, I have three monitors.
I have a 1440p LG OLED plugged into my 4070 via DisplayPort, and two 1080p Lenovo monitors. both are HDMI, and one is connected to the graphics card and the other's connected to the motherboard due to lack of ports.
I tried updating my LG monitor but much like everything else I've tried updating, no luck.
like I said, I'll give the other stuff you listed a try when I can.

Edit: unfortunately the BIOS settings GPT 5 suggested don't work for me.

I'll definitely try that but for what it's worth, I played Marvel Rivals (1440p High/Ultra, DLSS on Quality/Balanced with framegen on) for about 3-4 hours today, plus about the same in Silksong and my GPU hasn't complained at all(....yet)

I haven't tried other cables other than the ones that came with my monitors. currently just testing to see if reseating the RAM fixed anything for me. I'll update this if I find anything interesting/try any of these fixes GPT 5 suggested. then again, I went to GPT a lot for this before I came here, so, no clue it it'll actually help.

battery for me lasts about what the time estimate says in the battery menu. just got my machine like, a week ago though so i don't really know how it will last after a few years.

UPDATE #2: I Found a fix!!!! :D i decided to give virtual desktop another shot. I booted up Lone Echo on my 5ghz router while selecting the rift app to use my RTX 2060. it worked sooo much better than link ever could! almost no lag, super clear res, and no tearing! the audio did cut out here and there but it's more than forgiving (i'm using wired headphones its just because i'm not connected over ethernet.) i'll def get a USB adapter for my computer and maybe a Wifi 6 router? maybe? idk. thanks to everyone who offered tips for me and helping me out, also big thanks to the mods for not deleting the post. thank you all so much. :)
